"Wow! Location! Swimmable lagoon, safe, clean with sand beach! Wonderful large and very clean pool, never crowded! Absolutely tremendous service from the first to the last minute! Thanks to the amazing manager Rose, who did above and beyond to help us with the upgraded room and then asked every day if we needed anything, accompanied us daily with recommendations and suggestions. All the staff were extremely attentive, supportive and helpful and fulfilled all our requests! We had unforgettable vacation in Fairmont Orchid and will come back next year definitely. P.S. food is delicious in resort, but expensive. There are nearby grocery stores where you can save some money and find everything you need including hot food."

"A very convenient location for staying in Waimea-- there are two supermarkets and one health store across near by. Several restaurants/coffee shops within a mile and a lovely 1 mile (2 mile round trip) nature path across the street. It is a bit of a drive to Kona or Hilo but still accessible. Email the hotel with your information (email address) even if you intend to check in before 4 PM (flight delays etc) so they can email you with how to check in after hours. Staff were friendly in person and on the phone. In addition to a coffee maker, my standard room had a mini fridge which allowed me to store snacks/produce w/o fear of spoilage or pests."
