"many things to like about this resort but also few criticisms too. A big highlight that was beneficial to our stay was the complimentary refillable water bottles. There are many refillable water stations throughout the resort and we took them out everyday around the island. Another amenity is the free shuttle rides throughout the Mauna Lea district for food options or entertainment. I did like the proximity to a private beach for snorkeling and/or swimming. I can't forget about the complimentary coffee at 5-6am. For the critiques, I'd wish they had a bigger pool. It does get crowded and ppl are scrounging for lounge chairs. Other resorts have bigger pools with splash pads to give some fun for the kiddos. Also for the room, we found it difficult to live out of our suitcases since there isn't any drawer space. They have a lot of hanger space tho. It is a very beautiful resort with many amenities to keep you busy. If I'm ever lucky to return to the big island, I wouldn't oppose a return"

"Everything was amazing! Laurel was so helpful and kind, I loved staying at her cute and cozy place❤️ We got a very thoughtful tray of local fruits from her and a home-baked banana bread which I thought was very cool."

"Incredible views! Seeing it in person is just amazing. We had a group of 4 adults and 3 kids that stayed here and we all fit comfortably. Clean, spacious and a great, responsive host. The pool was also amazing! It was like finding a swimming hole in the middle of a rainforest and the slide was a hit for the kids. The outdoor shower in the master suite was one of my favorite parts of the house. I didn’t think I would like it but it was so relaxing out there, especially at night with the moon peeking through the trees. If you have younger kids, here are a few things to be aware of: the main house has the master bedroom and the “secret room”. We didn’t feel the secret room was a safe option for our youngest (steep stairs, mezzanine style loft with pony walls and very high bed). The other 3 bedrooms are accessed by walking outside across the patio. Great rooms over there! But if you’re wanting to stay in the master and kids to stay in other rooms, you’ll be separated. So keep that in mind when considering bedroom set up with younger kids. Other things to note: the little town of Honoka’a is cute but half the stores/restaurants were closed even during their “open” hours. You need to drive quite a bit to get to other things not right there in that very small town. You also need to drive to get to most beaches. The black sand beach that is right there was closed when we went unfortunately. Let’s be honest though, we didn’t want to leave this house very much anyways!!"
