Hong Kong on a budget
I stayed at the hotel Casa in Nathan Road for 3days Oct 14th - 18th 2013. It was a little overpriced I thought. But apparently this is a HK thing. MINUSES 1/ the toilet and Vanity are inside the shower cubicle. (I never saw this before). And its a small cubicle. so when you shower you have to straddle the toilet. A plus to this (has to be something) is you can put the top down and take a seat while you shower. 2/ The small size of the room.. made life difficult as there was nowhere to put bags. My main bag ended up living on the desk for the stay while my carry bag was shifted about to make space where needed. 3/There is a landing in the entry foyer with no way except carrying your bags up to the desk / lift level. No real big deal unless you have heavy bags. This could be a big deal for older travellers. No help with bags was offered by staff PLUSES 1/ The cleaning staff did a good job. My room always smelled fresh and was neatly made up every day. 2/ The big plus to staying at the Hotel Casa is it's location. It is so handy to everything. there is a night market that sets up just on dusk (at the time of season I was there) which is situated just behind the Hotel. and the shopping on Nathan road is very good. There are lots of hidden markets in the buildings along the road that you have to go exploring to find. Looking back I would stay again anytime.

3-star hotel, with ideal location
The best thing about Casa Hotel is its ideal location. The hotel sits right on busy Nathan Road. And it's only a 2 minute walk from Casa to the Yau Ma Tei MTR station. From there, you're only 2 stops away from Tsim Tsa Tsui and 4 stops away from Central on the MTR. Just outside the hotel, there's plenty of restaurants and shops. Surprisingly, inside the hotel it isn't noisy. Also, the hotel contains a restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch at reasonable prices. I stayed in a single room, which was clean and small, but nothing special.

Great location and comfortable room
This is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in Yau Ma Tei/Mongkok area. It is big enough to have a person sit at the table, and 2 of our luggages open. The receptionist was kind enough to let us check in earlier as the rooms are available. Only cons is you will have to wait awhile for the lifts and the pillows provided are very flat.

Good for the location
Room is very small, as expected, but sheets are clean and staff helpful and friendly. the rooms could do with a bit of updating and a coat of paint in the less obvious places. The plumbing is the loudest I've ever heard. Practically you can't watch TV if the guest next door is taking a shower, let alone sleep! Having said that, would probably stay again if the price is right.

Asgood as ever.
Could do with a bit more doing up inside the rooms, but very convenient location and all-in-all a budget favourite.

Good overall experience - odd bathroom
Overall good experience. The rooms are very small by western standards. Maybe 8 by 8 feet. Basically a small bed, a desk, and just enough room to walk around. The bathroom was interesting. A sink, toilet, and a shower head over the sink. No separate shower at all. Basically, your entire bathroom gets wet after you shower.

The hotel staff provides good services .
The location of the hotel is great . It is near to everything . The hotel staff was also great .The room is a little bite small, but it is workable . However, the bathroom is really tiny .The sink is very small and there was no real shower stall . It is very uncomfortable to take a shower.

Good memories of Kowloon
For me the Casa Hotel is in a excellent location so close to markets, shops and the metro. The only negative is the no seperate shower cubicle, the basin, toilet and shower all in approx. 1 square metre, not good when toilet paper gets soaked every time you have shower.Any more than a couple of days would be a real pain!!!!!

If you need to be in Hong Kong but can't afford it
If you really need to be in Hong Kong and can't afford a good hotel, CASA Hotel is ok for as long as you can stand a very small, dark room with a window but no view at a price about four times what it would be in most countries. This place reminds me of a small RV and has a wet bath too (shower is on wall and gets everything in bathroom wet and not much room for a shower at that). Room was clean enough and had enough amenities though I moved as much as possible out of the way into drawers or wherever so there was a little space for my stuff. Single bed was small and hard, against the wall. Extra pillow and blanket in closet. Air conditioner worked ok. There was a note about water getting hot 10 minutes after you enter the room and there would be enough for a second shower after a while - I took a quick shower in the morning and there was enough hot water but didn't take a shower in the evening, as I usually do in a climate like this, to avoid getting the bathroom wet. Wireless internet worked ok after entering password but that password stuff is always a nuisance. You can get a far nicer hotel in Shenzhen (mainland China, just across the border) for the money, better food than in Hong Kong (I tried the expensive Hong Kong Sheraton (down Nathan Road) buffet breakfast and wasn't impressed except for the selection of fruit), and a more pleasant environment in Shenzhen. For a single room, take the ferry to Nan Hai Hotel in Shekou for a much better hotel at half the price.

We chose this hotel for its great location and affordable price.
Location and price is why we chose Casa Hotel. CH is on Nathan Road, the main street with numerous shops & restaurants on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong. HK has an outstanding public transportation system that is cheap and easy to use. Numerous buses and taxis run frequently on Nathan Rd. while the MTR (trains) run beneath it. Less than two minutes walk to closest MTR station. CH is situated in the middle of everything we wanted to see in Kowloon such as the Ladies Market, Temple St. Night Market, jade jewelry district, outlet stores & more. Another concern is safety, which should always be a concern for any tourist. No problem around CH. In fact, I felt very safe walking around in Kowloon at 11:00 pm with my Canon DSLR camera while taking pictures. Now here's the rundown on CH. CH has a security guard in the lobby. The front desk is on the 2nd level. The room is approximately 12x12 feet, small by any standard. It had a very small window with a view of nothing. The toilet, sink, and shower is inside a 4x4 feet frosted glass enclosure. After brushing my teeth in front of the sink, I literally did not move my feet to take a shower...I'm not kidding. Just like what other reviews had said, everything within the enclosure will get wet. Aircon worked great which kept us cool but it could be a little noisy. It was turned off while we slept. We had a double bed and it was just ok. Closet and floor space is limited, just enough to put our luggage and out of the way. A small, maybe 22" flat screen TV is mounted on wall. There is a small desk and chair in one corner. Internet connection was good and free but I don't remember if it was WiFi or via ethernet. Noise from your neighbors can be a problem because the walls are thin. People talking anywhere in the hallway outside our of unit can easily be heard and closing of doors sounded like they were being slammed. However, during the evening, it was quiet and we were able to sleep with no problem all three nights. All in all, we would stay there again for its location and price. Price is on the lower end compared to the others in this area although still not cheap. Staff and service was okay.

Tiny Convenient Room in Heart of Kowloon Shopping
This hotel is well located, just above a subway station and a stone's throw from some of the best Kowloon markets. The staff is competent and someone at the desk spoke English well enough to take care of any issue. The room is very small; however it had everything I needed just about within arms reach. The wifi was fast and Hong Kong, unlike China, does not ban Facebook. The bathroom was also tiny and there is no shower stall. I just closed the toilet, made sure the toilet paper was covered and closed the door to take a shower. It's not my favorite way to take a shower, but such showers are not uncommon in many parts of the world. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. I recommend it to people who can deal with a Hong Kong size room comfortably.

Good location!
Perfect location...less than 1 min to MTR~!Esp good after a long day with trolley~! I expected it to be smaller after reading all the review, but maybe due to no expectation, everything seems good :) Bathroom wasn't as small as what i expect it to be :) I thought it will be smaller. Walking distance to temple st and ladies street . Will stay there again as i do not mind the size of the room as most of the time,im out :)

Convenient and small hotel
Casa Hotel is very conveniently located within 2mins walk from exit C of YauMaTei MTR station. Very good service provided by frontdesk at level 2 and there are also 7 Eleven + Circle K just below the hotel. Eateries nearby which open till late night. However, there are somethings to note if you want to book this hotel: 1. There is no lock for the bathroom. (Non-transparent glass covers it and you will see only shadow of the user in the bathroom) 2. Bathroom size is about 1m by 2m for the most basic room and 1m by 3m for better rooms if you upgrade. (U have to take shower just beside the toilet bowl and basin for basic room) 3. Size of most basic room is just enough for 1 queen size bed, 1 large luggage and 1 person walkway. (Recommend to upgrade to mid-range rooms for more room space since it is not very expensive) 4. Walls are thin, sound from other rooms or corridor can be heard but not clearly. 5. Only 1 room access card is given and it is proprietary. (room electricity cannot be activated using any other cards) Will definitely stay there again for my next visit.

The room was so small that we had to add money to change to another room. Yet, it was still not so satisfied. There was no proper shower cabinet or bath tub., no refrigerator ( there was a small little thing looked like a fridge but could only hold temperature at 20 C), no luggage rack, and had only one armchair for a room supposed to be (actually charged for) for three people. The closet (more like a clothing box) was so small that we could hardly hang our clothes. The safety deposit box could not be opened. Although it is in very good location, this hotel should not be rated as three stars.

Casa Hotel
The room I booked, though reasonably priced, was by far the smallest room I have ever stayed in anywhere. Example: sitting on the toilet seat in the bathroom my knees were touching the wall! If you're just looking for a place to sleep, this hotel is fine. But the location is pretty lacking, the lobby is up a flight of stairs then an elevator ride up one floor (and there aren't any signs telling anyone this). I think next time I'll look elsewhere.

3 stars is just about right
The rooms are TINY! I barely had enough room to open my suitcase and I wasn't used to the combo bathroom/wetroom, however, I guess this is normal in Asia. Nonetheless, the room was clean, functional and the staff adequate. The location, however, was not that great. Now that I know HK better, I would rather stay in Central HK, Kowloon Bay, or Tsim Sha Tsui. While the hotel was modern, the buildings around it were old, grungy and dirty. There wasn't anything worthwhile to visit around the hotel and so, I ended up spending my time at other areas of HK. Perhaps, the hotel's saving grace is that it was located 2 steps away from the Yau Matei subway stop. I would recommend this place based on price and proximity to a subway stop but if you're seeking nightlife outside your doorstep, you might consider staying in a hotel around Tsim Sha Tsui, Central HK, or Kowloon Bay.

Casa Hotel Hong Kong
The hotel is 30 seconds away on foot from the Yau Ma Tei MTR subway station and very close to Temple street markets and not too far (20 minute walk) to Mong Kok. Location is a plus. Taxis can stop right in front of the hotel. In fact when we left, we hailed a taxi within 30 seconds right in front of the hotel. The staff is average. One woman I spoke to in Cantonese gave me fair service but was very curt and to the point so I wasn't sure if she was being rude or having a bad day. When we spoke in English to the staff, the service improved. A worker says that the hotel is 2 years old. The pictures of the hotel on the website seemed decent. When we got there, we realized that the new owners probably took over an old hotel and remodeled the lobby and street level and did very minor (painting) remodeling of the other floors and rooms (at least for the 14th floor). Our room was extremely small (and we have been in many hotels in HK and some in Japan so even this room is the smallest we've been in). The carpets looked old. Bed was okay although it had hair on the pillow case. The walls were nasty--they had old splatters of some liquid on it that was never cleaned up. The bathroom was extrmemly small and old style. The shower was the bathroom itself so you close the door and shower in front of the sink. Water gets everywhere but not in the room since it is sealed properly. Anyone larger than an average size adult will not be able to use the toilet or use the shower in this bathroom. Laundry serveice is about two blocks away near the MTR exit. Good price. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a super convenient hotel location in Yau Ma Tei Kowloon HK if it is a super low price. The pictures are deceiving. I would rate this as a 2 star hotel and not a 3 star hotel. I would most likely not stay here again but instead stay at the Metropark Mong Kok which is also an old hotel but it was a lot larger and cleaner looking.

Great location. Small and smelly
Location is great. The room is smell as I expected. Just didn't expect the sink is half way on top of the toilet. So you need to seat on toilet angled. After shower, the entire bathroom is wet. Worst of all, the room smells like sewage.
