"We had a fabulous stay at Maison Emeraude. Franck and Miguel were wonderful and attentive hosts. We stayed there for two nights during our honeymoon and only wished we could have stayed longer! The breakfasts were incredible and we chose to have dinner there, which they offer every other night (don't miss it!). They also have a menu of snacks and drinks to choose from during the day. The room is incredibly spacious and steps away from a beautiful pool. The design aesthetic and hospitality of this place are 10/10. We hope to return some day and cant wait to recommend Maison Emeraude to any friends visiting Sao Miguel Island. You wont regret staying here!"

"Very clean and well furnished. Host very responsive. Only thing is that it's a bit further than the Sta Barbara beach than the description. Be prepared to use your car for everything. Easy parking in the street in front."

"Perfect apartment for our family to stay in. Our parents also stayed in a neighboring apartment and it was perfect for our families to interact with no worry of traffic driving by. Conveniently located in the center of São Miguel, giving us a head start on our daily day trips!"

"The view from the upper rooms of the ocean is breathtaking. The bed is comfortable and the small kitchen space has the basics of what you need. The patio space is shared with other units (although some bamboo provides a bit of privacy) so others smoking &/or having loud conversations can affect the tranquility. The surrounding area is farmland so it is very tranquil. The lodge is under renovation/construction - something we didn’t know. But the work stops in the afternoon so there was no issue. We would definitely stay here again for the views!"

"We received a very warm welcome , which included freshly made bread and a lovely welcome basket .Communication with the owner on What's app, was seamless. The house and contents ( bed linens , towels ,kitchen supplies )were impeccably clean. And a clothes washer was an additional bonus!"

"Set in a beautiful landscape in the countryside, high quality and tastefully furnished, perfect equipped apartments, and, most of all, incredible staff: Angela served delicious (highly individualized) breakfast in a beautiful breakfast room. Angela, Cissa, and Nicole (as well as everyone doing written communication) was incredibly friendly, competent, helpful, and all around delightful. I want to return soon. Pico do Refugio is also ideally located, right in the middle of the island, no matter what destination. The garden is beautiful, the pool super clean. One can't ask for more!"

"Breakfast was local foods and delicious. Staff was very friendly and the property is beautiful. Feels way more authentic than getting a hotel in ponta delagada. Would recommend 100% to anyone that likes homie vibes"
