Classic "Old Tahoe" Lakefront Estate with Buoy

If you crave a simpler time, when good times with family and friends were paramount, then this is the home for you. The property is completely amazing with over an acre of pure Tahoe fun. You know you are in for something special as you enter the gates to this private compound and you are greeted by a sports court with paddle tennis, and basketball. The entire full yard is landscaped with Tahoe perennial flowers and soaring ponderosa pines. Outside is set up to truly enjoy the outdoors with hammocks, table tennis and horse shoe pit.

Once inside, Lucky Dons is a spacious 1919 square feet, built in the 1920's. The living room harkens back to a different era with a big wood burning fireplace to enjoy on cool Tahoe evenings. There is a newer flatscreen TV and cable with internet. As with many older homes, you do have to go through the downstairs bedroom to get to the kitchen. The kitchen will bring you back great memories of creating meals without all the fuss. It's basic, but has what you need, including a dishwasher. There is a full bath with shower off the kitchen. Upstairs are two "garret" style bedrooms that are perfect for kids with three twin beds in the larger loft area, and two twin beds in the smaller loft area.

The centerpiece of this home is the wonderful lake view deck with a dining table and patio furnishings to enjoy dining in the fresh Tahoe air. There is also a guest house that makes a perfect place for extra family members. There is a king size bed and a full bathroom. The bathroom can be accessed from the bedroom or by an outside entrance, so can be used by guests of the main house. The bath has separate areas for the sink, shower, and toilet so can be used by several people.
A path leads the way down to the private water front. There is a buoy available for your boat at no additional charge.

Perfect for families with pets. Whether relaxing on the deck of the fully-equipped cabin, playing ball on the sports court, or swimming or boating from the 100' private water front, you'll experience a memorable "old Tahoe" home vacation at Lucky Don's. Please consider that this is a 100-year old, truly rustic, classic home and is priced accordingly. On-site laundry room is available to all guests as well.

This property also offers a ping pong table, horseshoes, cornhole, darts, sport court (could be used for pickleball), basketball hoops and a hammock to rest up in after sporting. Lakeside, there are two kayaks and a row boat along with lakeside chairs in the shade.

This lake front home rents with a Sat. to Sat. arrival-departure only from June 27 to September 26. Only Sat. to Sat. stays will be accepted during this time frame.

There will be a $100 pet fee plus tax for maximum 2 dogs. Pet fee is charged for each pet.

Safety hazards and Toilets backed up
First day 1 toilet backed up & overflowed. 2nd day the other toilet backed up. We all had to go find restrooms in town. Upstairs the entry to the two "rooms" is not lit, complete darkness. One has to stoop and feel with your hand so you do not hit your head. Complete safety issue. There are spiders tucked away in all corners. The cabin has multiple holes in the roof / ceiling of upper rooms. The worst safety hazard is the stairs leading to the water. The bottom stairs are washed away leaving the large railroad ties exposed and in the way. You have to carefully climb over each one, carrying the dingy while maneuvering over the railroad ties & large loose rocks. While navigating this area, you also have to avoid the rebar and wire sticking up out of the area. There is a hazard of not just falling but also being impaled by rebar. This is the only way to get the kayak and dingy into the water. Ppty mang response to me. I Asked for partial refund "Hi,I just spoke with the owner and they are not going to give you a refund. We understand that the toilet was a major inconvenience, and we dealt with that as promptly as we could. For the wifi issues, I tried to reach out multiple times in order to see if it was working or not after giving you the new network info, and I never heard back from you. (not true) As for the safety hazards that you mentioned, we feel that the property is accurately represented in the pictures and the description. Best, Jack"

Had a great time
The location is amazing right on the lake. Spent our hours kayaking and floating. The house is a bit rustic and the main room is in the middle of the house which can make things awkward for the teens trying to get back and forth to the living room but it worked out. Property management was great.
