The COVID-19 pandemic has changed how we travel, but it hasn't curbed our appetite for exploring. Here are a few tips on how to cope with the new challenges of travelling:

• Investigate what rules and restrictions apply to both your origin and destination. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so make sure you check before you lock in your flight.
• Wear a face mask during airport screening. A TSA employee will require you to lower your mask temporarily to verify your identity.
• To reduce the likelihood of cross-contamination, position your boarding pass on the scanner yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your pass directly to a TSA officer.
• TSA now permits passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on baggage. This will need to be removed from your bag to be screened.
• Remove personal items from your pockets, like your phone and wallet, and place them in your carry-on instead of the bins. This will reduce handling during screening.
• Transport all food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Separating food from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA officer will need to open and touch your bag for inspection.
