The property was perfect for our needs. We enjoyed many walks to the beach, smores around the campfire, burgers on the grill and games in the fenced yard and around the table. It was a great location from which to explore all Holland and western Michigan has to offer.
We enjoyed our stay immensely! The house layout was perfect for a family of four with a few local visitors. I appreciated the cleanliness and accessibility of the space. The walk to the beach was fantastic! We made our way out around 11:30 at night to see the northern lights and a meteor shower! Fantastic stay highly recommend!
Our accomodatuins were exactly as described. Great communication. The space was perfect to relax and still enjoy around the area activities. Highly recommend this host.
The house is as listed, very clean and a well kept property. It is outside of downtown but not too far and close to Lake Michigan in a lovely tree filled neighborhood. The public access to the Lake closest to the house could be difficult to climb depending on your abilities, however, Tunnel Park is a 4 minute drive with easy access. Rich is responsive and even ran battery lights to us late at night when a bad storm knocked the power out.
The host called me on the same day as I made the booking which was welcoming. He offered information about the area and house - again, welcoming.
The house was well cared for and had everything that we wanted (even more than enough plates and glasses). The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, yet not too far from stores and coffee shops.
The location was perfect. A quiet neighborhood with beach access a short walk away. There’s a paved path for most of the walk and only 1 street to cross. A private backyard with a propane grill and fire pit. It’s also a short drive to the bigger beaches or downtown.
The kids loved the bunk room. Our bed was comfortable and the water pressure was everything you could want.
Rich was very responsive to any questions and a helpful guide for our first visit to Holland. If we come back we will definitely consider this house.
Clean, quiet, convenient, comfy stay. Would recommend
Rich was very easy to communicate, and always answered quickly (he even came to adjust the sprinklers timings to better suit us). Rich came when we arrived, house was clean, we (wife and 2 kids) immediately felt like at home. We usually enjoyed to nearest beach (5mn walk) in the mornings or evenings. Not so many people (average between 4 and 10), since it is small but enough.
We had everyrhing we needed close (groceries, blueberries!, attractions, beaches...). We stayed 9 nights but it ended too early!
Definitely would recommend.
Thanks again for everything Rich, you are a great host.

Home was located very close to two roads that led to multiple sites to see. We were unable to see everything in a 3 day stay, partly due to illness. The home was adequately furnished with necessities in both bath and kitchen. The home was surface clean, but I did have to spend 20 minutes cleaning the coffee maker before I could use it. Also, the blender had dried food stuck to it.
The owner was very responsive to our requests. It was so convenient to have a garage and opener! I was asked by the owner to wash and dry the towels before I left. I declined to do that since it seems the owner should sanitize the laundry prior to the next visitor. I did not want that responsibility. Besides, I had paid a cleaning fee.
We did not use all of the available amenities, but all in all, it was a good stay. We were able to use our own streaming services on the smart TV which was also convenient.
Our family of 4 really enjoyed the cottage and would definitely stay again! It was clean, very well appointed and had everything you could need for a week. The location is excellent as you are a quick walk/ride to the Riley beach access or a short drive to the Tunnel Park or Holland State Park beaches. Rich was a great host and we highly recommend his place to others!
The house was comfortable for our extended family. Everything we could possibly need was provided— including many extras like laundry detergent, ziplock bags, etc. The house itself was spotless and located close to both the beach, the park, and restaurants and town.
We are a volleyball family and set up right in front yard. Went to Holland state beach, Riley beach, downtown Holland for fresh crepes! Rich was very accommodating.
The house was well stocked with everything including paper products, spices, etc. The rooms were of amble size and very clean. Hot water no problem. Plenty of gas for grill. TV had plenty of channels. If there would be anything, the bed in master was very soft and possible the mattress should be replaced. Great stay. Would definitely stay again. Property manager was very attentive.
Before I tell you about the house, I want to put the spotlight on Rich. He was the best representation of what hospitality should be! His communication is unparalleled!! Even before we started our trip he gave me a call to go through some things to do around town and what the house is close to. Prior to our arrival there was a big storm. Heard about it on the news but didn’t think much of it…storms happen. Rich called to let me know the day before we left the home had no power, and neither did a large portion of town. He offered to get a generator for us if we still wanted to stay. We, at that very moment, were standing in our back yard with temperatures hovering near 95. Yes Rich, we are coming whether there is electricity or not. Ha!The house is absolutely perfect. Sleeps 4 adults, and four kids very easily, maybe 8 adults if your height is under 6’3. The back yard has space for all the activities you can imagine. Our daughter specifically loved hide and seek, her favorite place to hide was the ferns. I don’t blame her, it looked like a great place to lay down. There is a gas grill and a large table for dining or playing cards outside. There is also a really nice fire pit, should the weather be cool enough for a fire. One of my absolute favorite things was the gas cooktop! Another big plus, washer and dryer! Traveling with messy humans? You’re gonna want those!
Location was amazing and the house was perfect for family and kids. The owner made the house so welcoming and the trip easier with all the amenities. Would definitely stay here again if visiting Holland.
This house is very spacious! You'll feel right at home. Plenty of storage to unpack in, comfortable bedrooms, a great shower (water pressure is perfect), a large kitchen, and plenty of space to play. We loved walking to the neighborhood beach every evening to watch the sunsets and drove there (there is a small parking lot) when we didn't want to carry all our beach stuff for our days sitting on the warm sands and playing in the waves. We especially appreciated the large garage to park the car in. The neighborhood is very quiet and we had a great time exploring Holland. There are so many great places to visit with the family. The property manager went above and beyond with amazing service. Thanks for a great stay!
Our two adult children and their families stayed with us in this house. It was a perfect location for five adults and three children. We enjoyed the semi - private beach a short walk away, the fire pit and the nicely furnished interior. The owner welcomed us with wine and chocolate and responded quickly to our questions. What a fun vacation!
We have never been to Holland and we loved it. We are a family with 3 small kids and there was plenty for us to do, even when it rained one afternoon. The location is perfect, a block from a small beach and a few miles from two state park beaches which were awesome.
Rich was very considerate and responsive. He called to check in and has his house filled with great amenities so you don’t have to purchase while on vacation. The house looks to be remodeled and spacious. It was very clean on arrival. Lots of towels and sheets available and many board games, which were all very nice. He had beach towels for our use and many Tide tablets for the washing machine- huge bonus.
There were just a few things that we found could be improved. The mattresses were pretty uncomfortable but I’ve slept on worse. The seating in the family room is quite limited considering the house can sleep up to 8 people. There is only a 3 person couch and two very uncomfortable chairs. The bean bags were a cute idea for the kids but they were pretty deflated. The exterior of the house could also use some curb appeal and cleaning. There were spider webs all over the front and back and very limited grass for the kids to play out back (lots of mud). We didn’t want to sit on any of the chairs as they also had lots of webs on them so we didn’t get to enjoy the evenings outside.
Overall i would consider staying here again because of the location and comfortable layout.
The house had everything we needed. It was a nice bonus to get a garage door opener to enter and exit from the garage. Riley beach was disappointingly small and difficult to traverse, but the other local beaches were better.
The property is in a quite neighborhood right next to a bike trail and easy walk to Riley beach. Riley beach was nice, but has a very steep descent due to the sand dune. There are many beaches within driving distance. We enjoyed the backyard grill and fire pit the most. The house is very simply furnished and everything was in good working order. Check out Kayak Kayak and Saugatuck dune rides for extra fun when you are in the area.
