Cedar Cottages Blackmans Bay - Country suite

Cedar Cottages Blackmans Bay is a welcoming place to get away from it all and enjoy the beauty of Southern Tasmania. Located in the gorgeous seaside village of Blackmans Bay, only 15 minutes south of Hobart city centre and close to the shopping centre of Kingston, our cottages are flexible in the range of options available.

Country Suite, a modern 3 bedroom 1 bathroom house, accommodates up to 8 people.

Country Suite offers 1 queen, 2 single and 4 single bunk beds. We also provide cots and high-chairs for your little ones.

Accommodation 15 minutes to Hobart CBD.
Only a 5 minute drive to Kingborough Sport Centre KSC.

All cottages are fully furnished and self contained, including linen and we provide all of the items that you need to self cater. Both locations have BBQ's provided.

Come and stay with us and enjoy the magnificent views across the mouth of the Derwent river and out to Iron Pot, the oldest operational lighthouse in Australia. With only a 400 meter walk to Blackmans Bay Beach this is an ideal base for your relaxing holiday in Hobart.

Our aim is to provide excellent accommodation at the best possible price. Discounts may apply for multiple nights and your pets are welcome and can be securely kept in our fully fenced yard.

Blackmans Bay is a central base for exploring many great Tasmanian attractions, including The Antarctic Division Headquarters, The Huon Trail, Tahune Air Walk, Hastings Caves, World Heritage Area, Port Arthur, National Parks, MONA Museum of Old and New Art and of course all the sites of Hobart.

Beautiful Blackmans Bay

We have stayed in this property before and love its proximity to the beach and family. It is roomy and comfortable. It appears the property has experienced some wear-and-tear since our previous stay (e.g. the carpets could benefit from a steam-clean and the bathroom sink didn’t have a strainer, so I was in constant fear of losing my earrings!), but is otherwise fantastic.

Great location if heading further south.

Overall was a good position to stay, house was reasonably clean. Few points to note as below. 1) A lot of spiders in the house 2) No lock on bathroom door 3) Power point for microwave doesn't work Over all was great.

We could walk down to beach and it was only max 20 minutes to Hobart CBD. Very modern and stylish. Equipped with all you need for your stay. Very good value for money

Slightly mixed review

The kitchen is well equipped, the wifi worked and there was a washing machine. Unfortunately we didn’t get off to a good start. We arrived at the property to find it had not been cleaned from the last stay. The owner suggested we go out for dinner whilst the house was cleaned. (A cleaner was called in) Not ideal as we had been on the road all day also not what you would expect when paying for accommodation. It was quite inconvenient and the lack of an apology or some kind of recompense left us a little unhappy. To be fair the owner did sort out the issue. And after that we had a perfectly pleasant stay. The accommodation is fine for a group. Although the steps leading to the property were not ideal for some of the elderly gentleman staying with us.

Blackman's Bay Stay

We had a function at Kingston Saturday afternoon. Check in is usually 4pm, which is very late compared to other places I have stayed , with Stayz. Stefan, the host, kindly let us check in @ 1.30pm. He also responded quickly to communication, especially as I was & had been having trouble accessing the Stayz inbox, which contained relevant information for our stay & accessing the unit. But unfortunately we weren't able to get a later check out.(10 am) place was clean, warm and easy location. We had a portacot in the main room, but unfortunately no jug for heating a baby's bottle. The only other thing I found unusual was that we were required to strip the beds, have never been asked to do this at other locations. As when we wanted to have a relaxing get away, after a very hectic 12months of appts & doctors, this just added extra angst as we also paid a cleaning fee.
