"Cottage was cute and cozy, had all necessary accommodations to meet your basic daily needs. Location was a hidden gem. Perfect little getaway for a quiet weekend on the beach! We loved the private beach and the fishing pier. My family and I would consider coming back in the future."

"What a hidden gem of a place! A gorgeous river cottage overlooking the St James River. Grateful to be immersed in a natural rural atmosphere and also so close to many things to do both at the cottage and near Williamsburg. We swam, walked the beach, kayaked and fished! A magical sun rising over the StJames River takes one’s breathe away! I understand why people come back here. It’s a very special place. Reminds me of being on a lake which reminds me of my childhood! The Ferry is close, free and reliable and only added to our experience. The topper for me was the Bald Eagle! Being situated high on the bluff the birds are eye level and Mr Eagle flew by me, fish in talons—directly in front of the cottage! A magnificent experience in many ways! The outdoor shower was also incredible during hot summer days which also helped w having 1 bathroom to share w 4 people! We will be back! Sooner than later, I hope! Host is responsive and helpful."

"Coming up the driveway we were thrilled to see the river view. Once we went inside the house, we thought it would be nice, but the home was spacious and nicely decorated and there was everything we needed for making our family get-together comfortable and fun. We enjoyed cooking most meals "at home," and also enjoyed going into Williamsburg on the ferry (close by) to visit Colonial Williamsburg and other sites. We all went out on the two kayaks and really enjoyed the wildlife we saw--our kids saw otters, a bald eagle, ospreys, cormorants, and other birds :-). This is our favorite vacation home so far. And the house was immaculate."

"This charming house is enormously spacious, in particular the two main bedroom suites. We were a party of ten and had plenty of room for everyone. The location of the house is superb: within a few minutes from Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, Water Country USA etc. The host Alexa is fantastic, always responsive and informative. We had an issue with an alarm in the loft which she solved within 10 minutes! This house is highly recommended!"
