Hotel Riu Republica - Adults only - All Inclusive

"Sometimes Staff in bars and restaurants were not friendly. Pools are great. Food was OK. Drinks at the bars could be better. Phone in room never worked despite I reported to reception. I asked for extra blankets and they were not provided until next day. There was a problem with showers; only hot water came out, so that day we couldn't take a shower until it was repaired. Rooms are Ok, however I think the hotel needs more maintenance."

"I was really enjoying my 60th b-day @ the Resort! We really enjoyed a big variety of delicious food. Our butler Jose Miguel Jimenez was extremely attentive, informative and caring. He booked all our dinners in a diverse restaurants and provided daily update about all activities @ the resort. The pool area was clean and enjoyable. I recommend drinks in the Main Lobby, all of them very tasty."

"Food was bad. Stuff not frendly, We often had to wait a long time for waiters to come around and pour water or coffee in the buffet area. At night, something in my room kept biting me; my daughter stayed in the adjacent room and experienced the exact same problem. We asked for pest control treatment, but nothing was done. It was my birthday, and I was promised a surprise, but nothing materialized. The food in the buffet was not fresh. In the restaurants, everything seemed to be merely reheated, and the food was served only lukewarm. We had to wait 1.5 to 2 hours for room service orders to be delivered. The refrigerator in my room was not working properly; I was promised a replacement, but it was never provided. Only was frendly and nice stuff, ledies,who did clean my room."

"The resort was beyond beautiful and the activities and the entertainment staff were awesome! Somehow this place attracts awesome people too. Felt like we had a long list of friends that we knew by name by the time we left. Definitely will be back."

"I traveled with my elderly mom who uses a walker. The staff was extremely accommodating, professional, helpful and most of all genuinely friendly. From the moment we walked in, til the time we left, everyone made us feel welcome and it truly makes all the difference in the world. Loved the fact that it has its own private beach. Only downside no shows or entertainment other than the casino. Hopefully there will be shows in the future because we definitely want to go back."
