Bed and Breakfast in Higham Ferrers

"Just returned from a birthday weekend away to Cambridge thought we would give the Delta marriott a try was not dissapointed the only negative was hubby wasn't pleased at having to pay extra £5 per night to use the car park and we were ther for 4 days the rooms were beautifully decorated and immaculate the breakfast was slightly expensive but very tasty and plentiful and to top it off the swimming pool was great as was the jacuzzi will definitely be returning oh and I nearly forgot returned after visiting my grandson who lives ten mins away to find the hotel had made a plate of fruit up for me as it was my birthday....Thanks for making my birthday special"

"Well furnished rooms but on this stay there was quite a bad smell coming from the bathroom. Movement from upstairs carries quite loudly into the ground floor rooms so every step and floorboard creak heard below."

"Room was clean and comfortable the bed felt different like I'd got another duvet or something on top of the mattress, but when I checked it out in the morning it turned out to be a 2-3 inch foam mattress, so comfortable top marks!!!. And a nice touch also were the complimentary toiletries and earplugs, I'm not aware of anywhere doing that (earplugs). I'd definitely use the chain again. The only negative thing is the car parking I was there around 12hrs and was told at reception that I pay the machine when I leave and it was only £8 for 24hrs yet I was charged £8 SHOULD BE FREE TO GUESTS enter reg at reception job done"

"Great location, handy for the shops and evening entertainment. Parking less than a minute away. Great bar on the 14th floor with a great view over the surrounding concrete and countryside. Breakfast was good in the morning and the rooms were spacious and clean. Shower could do with an extra couple of bars pressure but all in all thoroughly recommended. Booked it off previous recommendations and they were right to suggest it. "

"Front desk staff were lovely. The hotel itself is very nice, room was a bit run down - missing faucet handle bit, needing a little tlc overall. Sheets seemed clean but I found hair that wasn’t mine around the room. My biggest complaint though isn’t with the hotel itself but instead the restaurant within the hotel. No matter when I called or how many times, they never answered. Not once during my entire stay. Reception tried to connect me - no luck. When I went to the restaurant they told me they couldn’t do lattes or coffee to go although earlier people were taking hot drinks to go. They were out of gluten free toast although it’s on their menu as something available daily. Room service was a big let down. Other people seemed to have the same issue."

"A very lovely budget hotel . Friendly and helpful staff . Clean rooms and staff were very helpful with arranging a cot for my toddler. Nice breakfast . Good value for money hotel ."
