Holiday Homes in Herod

"It was convenient having a garage for our car and luckily our car is small, because it barely fit. Nonetheless, a great feature. The place was clean, quaint, and adequate for the two of us. It was decorated to feel very homey. I recommend this as an option to stay if you are in the Harrisburg, Shawnee National Forest area."

"Cozy and clean home that had all of the little things we needed! Easy access to all of the cool hiking spots in the area!"

"Very peaceful and relaxing area, loved sitting on porch watching the barges go by."

"We stay here often perfect size and location. "

"The place was very clean and hot tub was great! We visited the small business in town that supplied some of the toiletries, which was awesome as well :)"

"Such a hidden gem here in Southern illinois. We enjoyed ourselves so much. So very peaceful and relaxing. We are now planning another trip to your facility soon."

"Our stay was fabulous! Our rooms were perfect for eating family meals, playing games and just relaxing! So many great things to do fairly close and beautiful views everywhere. Plenty of rooms for large family vacations! "

"Everything was lovely"

"Good location, easy to book and find, host answers timely, clean, lots of windows, and has everything you need."

"Had the best time, amazing view, great place to get together with family, loved that our dog could be included in our stay as well. Staff was amazin!!!!!"

"Great quiet location! It was very clean and comfy! Will definitely be back again!!"

"We had a great time this weekend hiking around and coming back to the cabin and building a fire. The TV worked great for when we were going to bed at night. The kitchen had what we needed to cook a fine meal. I would definitely book again in the future."

"The Martin House was plenty big & was a historic home! The kitchen & baths had been completely renovated & were nice!! The queen bed upstairs is not a queen…must be a full as we have a queen at home & this was much smaller & too tight for 2 regular size adults! Both of the front bedrooms need a bedside table or nightstands to put night time necessities such as water, Kleenex, nighttime meds, etc. The upstairs shower needs a clean shower curtain & new, clean shower liner & brighter light bulbs...

"great place"
