About this property

Cortland Cabin | Grand Opening

  • Cortland Cabin is a luxury forest retreat tucked within Orchard’s Edge, a private 22-acre forest escape in the Blue Ridge Mountains bordering Jeter Mountain Farm. Thoughtfully designed for rest and connection, Cortland features a skylit lofted king suite, a cozy bunkroom, spa-inspired bathroom, fully-equipped kitchen, and private outdoor living spaces. As part of our Grand Opening, guests are invited to experience Orchard’s Edge during its inaugural season with preferred opening rates.

    The Cabin Experience

Inside, Cortland welcomes you with warm natural materials and calming tones that reflect the quiet beauty of the surrounding forest. Every detail, from organic bamboo bedding to the spa inspired stone bathroom, was thoughtfully chosen to create a space that is both elevated and deeply restful.

The main living area features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the trees, filling the space with natural light and creating a peaceful connection to the landscape outside.

A comfortable living area and thoughtfully stocked kitchen make it easy to settle in and enjoy slow mornings or relaxed evenings after a day exploring the mountains. Tucked just off the main living space is a cozy bunkroom, creating a welcoming sleeping space that’s especially loved by families with younger guests.

A spiral staircase leads to the loft bedroom, where a king-sized bed rests beneath skylights overhead.

The spa-inspired bathroom features a rainfall shower and soaking tub combination, along with a heated toilet seat, bidet, and plush robes, creating a relaxing space to unwind after a day of exploring.

Just outside, the back porch with rocking chairs offers a peaceful place to enjoy the forest surroundings. Guests can gather around the cabin’s private outdoor fire table or soak in the private hot tub beneath the stars.

Guests of Orchard’s Edge are also welcome to gather at the retreat’s community Embergrove, which includes a stone firepit along with picnic tables, charcoal grills, and hammocks- creating a shared space for enjoying the beautiful outdoors.

    Orchard’s Edge

Cortland Cabin is part of Orchard’s Edge, a private 22-acre retreat born from a desire to create a place where time slows, the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains can be fully experienced, and moments with loved ones become lasting memories.

Rooted in intentional design and genuine Southern hospitality, every detail of the retreat has been thoughtfully considered. Whether you are celebrating a special occasion or simply stepping away from the pace of everyday life, Orchard’s Edge was created to feel both luxurious and deeply welcoming.

Orchard’s Edge is currently in Phase 1 of a five-phase development plan. Today, the retreat includes three luxury cabins and The Embergrove, a shared gathering space with a stone firepit, picnic tables, charcoal grills, and hammocks tucked beneath the trees.

As the retreat continues to grow, guests can look forward to a fourth cabin, private hiking trails, and curated experiential packages coming soon. The full masterplan includes fifteen custom cabins and a collection of bespoke amenities including a spa, library, stargazing observatory, organic-style pool, pottery studio, and event space… all created to offer an immersive, one-of-a-kind way to experience the Blue Ridge Mountains.

    Wellness-Focused Design

Our philosophy is simple, yet uncommon. True luxury and hospitality do not end with beautiful spaces and experiences; they support your well-being at every touchpoint.

At Orchard’s Edge, every detail has been chosen through the lens of our guests’ well-being. From the products used to prepare your cabin to the subtle signature scent in the air, from spa inspired bath amenities to your sleep environment, cookware, and even the smallest kitchen details… every element has been considered to help you slow down and breathe a little deeper.

This intention is woven throughout your stay, including:
    • Non-toxic cleaning standards
    • Non-toxic cookware and kitchen essentials
    • Biophilic, nature-inspired design
    • Spa-inspired bathrooms
    • Bedrooms thoughtfully designed using sleep science principles
