Overall, this property was in excellent condition and in a prime location. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wishing to stay near the heart of Helen. Being within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants was a great perk of this units location.

Overall the room was amazing. Great location, beautiful room, bed was comfortable, and room appeared clean, Safe location. The next morning when I wanted to start my day with a shower there was no hot water, coffee pot in the room but no coffee left to fix. other than those inconveniences I would have given the room 5 stars.

Great Place to Stay!

This was centrally located downtown and within walking distance to everything. It was sparkling clean and perfect for 2 people. I recommend bringing your own hand soap. They had small shampoo and conditioner bottles but no soap for hand washing. Also it wasn't mentioned but good to know they offer a hair dryer. If you're sensitive to light, you might want to bring an eye mask because the light outside shines a bit through the closed window blinds. We didn't have any issues with water temp and had hot running water for morning and evening showers. I would definitely stay here again in the future. It's a very cute inn and has everything you need, centrally located, and right next to Betty's Country Store for anything you need.

The location was wonderful and the house was clean and cute. I’m not able to give 5 stars just based on a few things I would suggest: shades or darkening curtains for windows as porch lights stay on all night, no coffee pot available, upgrading to a king size bed. There is plenty of room for one and most couples I’m sure would prefer a king over a queen.

Wonderful and well maintained. My only suggestion would be adding two things. An additional trash in the bedroom itself and a small table or shelf with a power source for guests personal electronics

Nice quiet stay

Unicoi unit was a comfortable, clean suite in the Upcountry Inn, in Helen, GA. Located between Betty’s Country Store and the Helen Presbyterian Church, it was quiet and close to pretty much everything. No need to drive and pay for parking. I would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Location to Helen

We loved staying here. It’s small but for the two of us it was perfect being in walking distance to everything. Only thing this place needs is a full length mirror, everything else was great!

Unicoi in Helen Review

For the price, this quaint little place is the perfect local place. Our vacation was for the Helen experience, not extended stay, so this hotel-esque accomodations was perfect. Very clean, modernly furnished, and excellent location for this unit made it a perfect solution. Contrary to some reviews, the bed was very comfy. Bathroom was clean, with a spacious high water pressure shower.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at upcountry inn but the first time in Unicoi. It was okay, but not great. The room was much smaller than anticipated. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable to us as were the pillows. We stayed a total of three nights and ended up having to go to the local store and purchase more towels as there were not enough in the room for a stay of even that length. Another thing we did not love was the lack of a trash can, the only can in the room was a small trash can in the bathroom. The location of this place is wonderful, Helen is a very pedestrian friendly town and it’s such an easy walk. The check in and check out process was not a problem at all, and we loved that we were on an outside room and able to just walk in and out. For this room I would recommend to bring your own pillows, and pack some extra towels. Also be prepared to have a few grocery bags around for trash.

The condo is located just on the outside of town. Perfect walking distance to downtown Helen restaurants and activities. Room was recently renovated and nicely appointed.

Hidden Fees and Dirty Towels.

The title pretty much sums it up. Based on the listed rate per night for this small room, I expected to pay a reasonable and moderate amount for 2 nights. Once I booked it, I found I was charged a large additional “owners fee” and a large “cleaning fee” …. that ballooned the price ro twice as much as listed! We could have rented a house for that amount. And, of course, it was all non refundable. even when booked 10 days in advance. The cleaning fee was a special joke because we found dirty wash cloths and towels left on the rack when we checked in. and had to remove them ourselves. The room itself was recently renovated and nicely decorated, but we cannot recommend it to anyone.
