The Space:
Our newly-renovated cabin has all the comforts of home, nestled away in the WV mountains surrounded by old-growth forest bustling with wildlife. Directly behind the cabin is the Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area: nearly 23,000 acres of old growth forest that’s full of wildlife. You’ll wake up to hear the birds chirping and chipmunks chattering away – and we often see deer, foxes, rabbits, turkeys, and even the occasional bear. If you’re looking to get out of the city and recharge in nature, this is the perfect place. (And the best part is you’re only 15 minutes from town!). Green Valley Retreat is fun for couples, families, or groups of friends -- and is the perfect home base for your getaway!
The cabin includes:
- Two bedrooms - One with a queen bed, the other with a queen/twin bunk combo
- A spacious deck for relaxing and grilling, with a large screened-in porch
- Hot tub perfect for relaxing after a long day exploring the area
- Central AC to keep you comfortable when it’s warm
- Open main room with plenty of natural light
- Outdoor fire pit to wind down the evening with s’mores!
- An outdoor yard game treasure box full of activities for kids and adults: corn hole, volleyball, soccer and kick balls, horseshoes, and many more!
Please note: Cell service at the cabin can be spotty, and while we do provide a WiFi hotspot, the signal isn’t always strong. We like to think of it as the perfect excuse to unplug, swap screen time for real downtime, and soak up the mountain vibes. You’ll find plenty of board games and outdoor games waiting—because the best memories are made offline!
Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!
On occasion, our well water can produce a sulfur smell. Don't worry, this is normal and common with wells in rural areas and perfectly safe.
You will be provided a copy of the Sleepy Hollow Lot Owners Association House Rules after confirming your reservation, and we will ask you to acknowledge receipt and acceptance of the House Rules.
Pet Policy:
We love hosting families and well-behaved dogs! For allergy and maintenance reasons, we’re unfortunately unable to host cats.
Beyond the cabin itself, the Hedgesville / Berkeley Springs area is great for so many reasons -- and Green Valley Retreat is just a short drive to everything. The Woods is one of the top golf courses in the state, with a wonderful spa, hiking trails, and a restaurant/pub as well. And the town of Berkeley Springs has been voted one of the top arts communities in the US, with dozens of shops and restaurants, and even a brewery and winery!

My husband and I wanted peace, quiet and privacy and that is exactly what we got. The cabin us clean and comfortable and appointed with bluetooth speaker and Roku tv.
Truer words were never spoken about the experience we had with our pup at this wonderful property. The house is quite nice, the management group is great and very communicative - no surprises! Hot tub and LOTS of games and surprising decent 4G wireless reception (Verizon) and there is 5G wifi available. The community's lake is a must!
We had such a great time! Check-in and check-out process was very easy and the host was always available. Highly recommend this property, we will definitely be back!
The cabin was cozy, but we never felt cramped. The screened in porch was VERY nice and the rockers were just perfect on the porch. We used the indoor fireplace and the grill. The grill was clean and there was equipment for its use and the kitchen had high quality pots and pans. We had to contact the host with a question, Tony was very responsive and asked more than once if we needed anything. We found everything was as stated in description. We did not use the hot tub.
We really enjoyed our stay. Tony was very communicative and the house was cozy! Just a few notes: the house was closer to neighbors than we were expecting. They were quiet and we didn’t see much of them, but we were expecting the house to be a little more isolated. Second, the couch in the living room was broken. It’s a a sleeper sofa and was sinking in so much that we really couldn’t sit on it. Lastly, it would’ve been nice to have more pans for cooking. There was one pan and a couple pots. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The screened in porch alone made the whole thing worth it, but did just want to note these few things!
Beautiful, quiet getaway with everything you could need
I would definitely stay here again! Such a cute, comfortable cabin in a beautiful area. The host was very responsive, ensuring we had a good stay. Loved making use of the fireplace and the hot tub for the cold spring evenings. There is a hotspot for wifi, but the signal was a bit off and on during our stay. It didn't bother us at all, as we loved the excuse to get off our phones and hang out, but if you needed strong, consistent wifi for work, may be something to consider.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this lovely VRBO property with my family and furry friend, and it exceeded all of our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and comfortable. The owners had thought of everything, from providing all the necessary amenities to adding thoughtful touches throughout the home to make it feel like a true home away from home. We especially appreciated the fact that this property was family and pet-friendly. It was great to be able to bring our dog along with us and not have to worry about leaving him behind. One of the highlights of our stay was exploring the charming town of Berkeley Springs. It's a picturesque town with a rich history and a vibrant arts scene. We enjoyed browsing the local shops and galleries and soaking in the natural hot springs at Berkeley Springs State Park. The owners were wonderful hosts, always available to answer any questions and ensure that our stay was as enjoyable as possible. We can't wait to return!"

Don't waste your money, broken furnishings, lacking basic amenities
This was one of the worst rental experiences I've had. Upon arriving at the cabin, we learned that the couch was broken (the mattress was missing from the sofa bed) meaning it couldn't be used as a bed or as a couch. There were rotting potatoes and onions in the kitchen cabinet. The house was missing basic supplies: there were no grill tools, dish soap and sponge, there were no dishes larger than a dinner plate for cooking or serving food for a group. I reported these issues to the host within an hour of check-in and they sent some supplies by end of day 2 by which point we had already purchased some replacements to get through the weekend. The host kept assuring me that the handyman would fix the couch but no one ever came. Since it was a holiday weekend, we couldn't find alternate accommodation. We would have left otherwise. So we had no place to sit in the living room, making it unpleasant to be in and one of our party had to sleep on the floor. The bunk beds in the second bedroom were super wobbly and the person on the top bunk couldn't sleep because the bed shook every time the person in the bottom bunk moved. Also, this house is NOT secluded - it looks directly into the house next door - which is about as close as it would be in a suburban neighborhood.
