Hayward is a popular fishing destination because of the many lakes in the area. Hayward is home to the National Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame contained within the 200-foot (61 m) long tribute to the Musky. The owner was awesome, had the cabin ready for us. Gave him my eta he had cabin warming already, beds were comfortable, near the trails. We all enjoyed our visit and planning to go back before end of the snowmobile season.

Absolutely wonderful stay, very cabin like and rustic. Wished the TV worked for the kids at night, other than that, it was a great stay.
Never heard or had any issues with any surrounding guests. The cabin worked out perfect for our overnight stay. We did not have a pet along. But, space would not have been a problem if we did. Thank you
Great location, easy check in, prompt communication. Only improvement would be to post wifi access details in the cabin.

Quiet, quaint, perfect.
If you want to get away this is the place. Cozy resort right on the water. Within a short drive to casino, great restaurants, a wildlife zoo. This area has it all including Musky Joe's resort. Awesome weekend. Will be back.

Clean,.comfortable, friendly
Gorgeous view of the.Chippewa Flowage. Cosy,.comfortable cottages. Friendly,.helpful owners.
Terrible experience. The communication was terrible. They canceled our booking the day of. Could not get them to call us. Did not answer the phone could not leave a message. Left us homeless four hours away from home.
Can't say enough about Musky Joe's. They have been in business for over 50 yrs and is the best place to stay in Hayward. If you're looking for that great rustic cabin to stay in then Musky Joe's is the place for you. Keep up the great work Cassie and we will see you again next year.
Kind of run down, needing some updating. Shower worked but not in good condition.

Clean and functional. Give the new owner some time to master the resort business!
Based on the description, I don't think we were given the Bass Cottage as the pictures and bed numbers do not match the cabin we were placed in. The cabin we did stay in was very clean and functional. The appliances were older models, but worked well. There was no "old cabin" musty or smoke smell. The dock was sturdy and well protected in the bay. Unfortunately, we did not have a reason to use the fish cleaning facilities. The boat landing was fine for our boat. The owner was friendly and helpful. Probably the biggest negative was the shower. For anyone over 5'7'', the shower head height is problematic. Also the space itself was very small. I am 6'1'' and my son is 6'5" which made it difficult to shower. There was no room to bend over to get under the shower head (think phone booth if you are old enough to have used one). The listing states that there is an outdoor grill; there was none and I was wishing we had brought our own. The bed I used needs to be on the short list for replacement. Overall, for the money, it was a fine place and we would most likely return. Once the new owner gains more confidence, I'm sure the little things will work themselves out.

Serene and beautiful. Might make it a yearly escape. Snow mobiles on the lake were cool to see. Deer bounding around on the lake. You truly feel disconnected from the hustle and bustle. It was perfectly quiet and there was tons to explore on the property. Went for valentine's day and it was the perfect solo trip.
We went to Musky Joe's in search of catching a Musky with our 7 year old son. While we were there we caught a variety of fish and had a fantastic time! Cassidy was great to work with and accommodated all of our needs. We used the canoes, kayaks, and motor boat in our musky quest. This was a quiet and relaxing place to spend some quality family time together. We will definitely be back, as we are still aiming to catch Big Chippie, that illusive Musky!
This is a nice little cabin. There are several other cabins nearby but you don't feel cramped. Nice access to the lake and Hayward is only a short drive.
The cabins have that nostalgic resort feel. The property managers were really helpful. The property is great if you want peaceful seclusion, but also has the opportunity to meet new people if you choose. We had a great time fishing from the boat we rented on property and then paddling around in the bay on the pade boat provided. Don't miss building a fire at the campsite fire ring and making s'mores!
Everything was perfect, from the location to the attentiveness of our hosts. Cabins were great, well stocked and have everything you need for cooking. Fishing from the docks is actually pretty great at the time we went (late May). We will be coming back.
