"Such a welcoming boutique hotel with the open air feel of an old Hawaii resort. Lots of tropical gardens, wood featured walls and floors. Lovely pool and reception areas. Rooms are basic and not quiet but the open air features made it all worth it. Bed was sufficient. Very Clean. Beautiful bay views and coi pond to sit by. Easy walk to town and airport so close. Such attentive staff. I will totally stay here again. "

"This historic property hovers right on the edge of Hilo Bay in a quiet, residential area. Brian and Tomomi take excellent care of the house and the guests. Tomomi provided hot breakfast a little later than usual because of our long nights at Merrie Monarch, and we received fresh towels every day. The fans kept the room comfortable. All kinds of snacks and other supplies are available for the taking. The ocean waves rolled just a few feet away from our windows. We will be back! "

"Staff was extremely friendly and helpful with anything I needed during my stay. I got the ocean view and was greeted by the ultimate view of reeds bay when I awoke. I felt at home here and was sad when it was time to go. Close to so many cool places and restaurants. Great for the price."
