"We were really disappointed with our stay. The place was not clean at all — we found hair everywhere, which was very off-putting. The bathroom was dirty and had black bits on the floor, making it feel unhygienic. The freezer was also very dirty, with bits of hair inside it — absolutely unacceptable.
On top of that, we specifically booked an accommodation with a terrace, but were given a room with no terrace at all. This was misleading and not what we paid for.

"My adult children and I had a magnificent four day stay here. Each room is unique, charming, and very comfortable and clean. The restaurant is impeccable and staff very friendly. There are some beautiful walking trails around the property and it is so quiet and peaceful. There is also a lovely gift shop filled with authentic and high quality items. The only thing we had issues with is the WiFi, which was very spotty in our room, but otherwise, we highly recommend it! Would definitely return."

Not so good: the website promises a direct access to a lift and alpine run - no information that this had, in fact run out of snow and was closed over a month ago. Sitting on the balcony for meals and staring out over the serene valley capped a wonderful day of exploring the Black Forest. So many interesting areas to visit within a short drive and the only problem was having to leave this wonderful home to explore the area. I couldn't have been happier staying at Chalet Foret. "
