It was a nice quiet property that was close to the hiking trails and only 20 minutes from town with nice restaurants to enjoy. The cabin was as advertised and was very peaceful and offered plenty of things to do if necessary. We would be a repeat guest if we return to the area

Nice, private cabin
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We were a bit disappointed to see that there were some things listed on the site that were not accurate. But overall, we enjoyed our stay and the privacy that this cabin has to offer.

Nice winter getaway
A comfortable cabin located close to the Yellow River State Forest. Plenty of room for 4 or 6 people (we were a group of 4). Two roomy bedrooms plus a loft. Note that the lower bedroom has a queen-size bed, not king as listed in the description. We did some hiking at the Yellow River State Forest and Effigy Mounds National Monument. McGregor and Marquette are two nearby river towns that are also nice to visit.
Was a wonderful stay. Bugs were bag but that is to be expected when your in the woods. Location was great with access to anything you want within 15-20 minute drive.
Cory was very receptive of any problems and took care of them immediately. Nice quiet location. Great place for a dog to run around without worrying about traffic. Back off in the woods and very quiet.
Black bear lodge was the perfect home away from home for our family of 5 (kiddos age range 6 years to 9 months). Check in couldn't have been easier, even for a first time vrbo guest! Communication with Cory was quick and helpful. We appreciated the extra amenities such as coffee and coffee filters, shampoo and conditoner, condiments and butter, paper towels, dish soap and sponge. My favorite part was the view, without a doubt, I could have sat on the deck our whole visit.
The cabin was very charming and the view while sitting in the hot tub was lovely. It was nice to have a fire pit as well. The kitchen was advertised as fully stocked which I would not say was accurate. If you want to do much cooking, you need to bring your own supplies.
Cabin was beautiful. Location was private. Check in was nerve wracking because we didn’t receive any check in instructions beforehand. Tried to contact property manager but never heard back throughout the duration of our stay. Luckily? cabin was left unlocked otherwise we would be SOL. There definitely aren’t two king sized beds but the place did have enough space for 4 adults and 3 small kids. Despite hiccups at the beginning we had a good time.
Really nice cabin overall. Was surprised that the main floor had no window coverings - cabin is pretty secluded, but a bit more privacy would have been nice.Hot tub was a great temperature, but only about 20% of the jets seemed to be doing anything. Also was a bit of a pain to bring our own bedding and towels (we had to buy sheets as we didn't have standard king sheets) - there was supposedly a discount for bringing our own, but I don't know what the price would have been anyway, and there were still a good amount of fees.Overall though, it is a nice clean place for a getaway!
The cabin was private and secluded which made it very peaceful. Great view and inside the cabin was nice. My only complaint was there was no rugs anywhere and we didn’t bring extra towels so the bathroom floor and entries would get wet and slippery. Would definitely stay here again though!!
