This is such a beautiful property and incredible restoration project! Hosts are incredibly friendly and welcoming, the room is more than comfortable and stocked with thoughtful amenities (homemade thimbleberry soda!). The attention to detail being paid to this historic property makes it a stay very much unlike anything else in the area. Will absolutely be staying here again!
Beautiful accommodations. The bed was very comfortable. I also enjoyed the heated towel rack in the bathroom.Excellent hosts! They were even willing to help us get our car out of a snowbank.
Can’t say enough good things about this place! It looked even better in person and the mission of the owners to redo this old building are admirable. Coffee center had everything needed including drinks in the refrigerator and snacks. Beds were super comfortable and bathroom had all the amenities. If it those who appreciate the past but can’t give up present day amenities, this is your place.
Staying in the maid's quarters was the highlight of our Western Upper Peninsula vacation. Our rooms were very comfortable, beautifully furnished with luxury bedding, and the snacks, beverages and breakfast items were perfect. We were very impressed with the improvements that David and Zach have made to the house, and we are already talking about a 2026 return trip so we can see what they accomplish next. This grand home has great potential; it's obviously being cherished and appreciated as Zach and David bring it back to a place of magnificence throughout the home.
We loved the Quincy House and appreciated how welcome we felt. The hosts are in the process of remodeling this old mansion and it was so interesting to hear the history. of the house and the vision they have to restore it. It was close to MTU and a great home base for all things in the Keweenaw.
This rental was well described in the listing and pictures, but I was still surprised. It was way better in person! The place was clean, check in was easy, and I had everything I needed. I can’t wait to rent again!
My husband and I visited for two nights while visiting our college kid.The guest suite is absolutely gorgeous and was very clean. There was a great little coffee/tea/snack area set up in the sitting room. The bathroom had extra toiletries in case you forgot something. The rain shower was very relaxing. And Heated Towels..so fantastic.David and Zach were very welcoming and had great communication. They were more than happy to share all they knew about the history of the property with us when we asked. We were visiting when winter provided colder than normal cold temperatures in the UP, so David even left us an extra heater in case we needed it. (We didn't - the boiler heating system in that house works really well!)We would definitely stay here again, and really hope we can because we can't wait to see the remaining restoration.
The owners have a vision of what they want this lovely estate to entail. The maid's quarter, is the first to open in their vision. It is cozy and has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The town is loaded with history, has many restaurants to choose from and lots of things to do from hiking to touring the Quincy Mine to a beautiful drive up to Cooper Harbor and Eagle Harbor. The owners are welcoming and leave you wanting to come back to watch their progress on the Quincy House. Definitely a Diamond in the Rough.
At first glance the house might be something you’d pass by but upon driving up on the property, and stepping inside you’ll find this stay has more than what just meets the eye.
Our stay was absolutely amazing! The room has been impeccably renovated and has everything you’d need for your stay, walking in and feeling so welcomed by not only the hosts but the room itself was a blessing after our long drive. The attention to detail in the room and the hospitality was so refreshing, and honestly a million times better than staying at a hotel.
Our hosts responded very fast if we needed absolutely anything, showed us around the grounds, and were again more than welcoming
I promise if you stay with these hosts and their amazing stay… you’ll never want to stay in a hotel again.
Will be booking again!
The Maides Quarters was perfectly set up!, clean, very comfortableThe hosts were kind, knowledgeable and very hospitable. We would definitely stay here again.
The renovated maid’s quarters in the historic Quincy House was the perfect space for my week-long visit to the Copper Country. Safe, clean, well appointed, and a great location for all that the Keweenaw offers. Plenty of history, hiking trails, views, and delicious food nearby!
This is a lovely historic home and David and Zach are great hosts! They've restored the Maids Quarters beautifully and added modern comforts and conveniences. We're looking forward to staying here on all our future trips to the Copper Country!
This property is equisite, every inch is finely crafted in beauty! Owners greetest us warmly, chatted about the home's history, showed us around. This suite has absolutely everything needed or wanted, sqeaky clean, great location up on a hill overlooking Houghton/Hancock. A must stay!!
The Quincy Agent House was convenient to everything we wanted to see in the Upper Peninsula. Our two room suite was beautifully restored by David and Zack who have taken great care and expended much effort in preparing it. The room had everything we needed during our four night stay and we would happily stay there again given the opportunity.
Really enjoyed our time at the Quincy Mine Maid’s Quarters. Beautifully restored, helpful and responsive hosts. Close to everything!

This place was amazing. Fresh flowers greeted us when we walked in, the decor is beautiful and reflects the historical aspect of the property. It’s like stepping back in time. There was coffee, tea, other beverages and snacks for us to enjoy.
This historic home is beautiful, super clean, and has tons of character. Though you stay in the same building as the owners of the home, they are incredibly respectful of your privacy. History nerds will enjoy the wealth of info David & Zach offer, if requested. I grew up in the area and will defintely be back to stay - highly recommend!

These renovated historic rooms are beautiful. Excellent craftsmanship in the style of an historic period, but with modern amenities (like phone charging stations by the bed). Really tastefully and thoughtfully done. And the hosts are terrific: kind, helpful, but not intrusive. Highly recommend!
