Call of the Bluff: pet friendly 3 bedroom home with lakeview
Call of the Bluff is a beautifully restored farmhouse set up on a hill overlooking Keuka Lake. Just 5 minutes from Hammondsport and with a view up Keuka lake all the way up to the Keuka bluff, you'll love the scenery from this home!
*Pet friendly *Expansive views of Keuka Lake *Outdoor firepit *Covered deck *5 minutes from Hammondsport
Call of the Bluff has that cozy farmhouse feel and you'll find touches of “local history” all through the house. Learn a bit about Hammondsport through antique postcards dating back to 1904 framed in the dining room, along with black and white photographs of Glenn Curtiss, the Hammondsport native who was an American aviation and motorcycling pioneer! If you're visiting the area for the incredible Finger-lakes wineries, you'll love the original watercolor artwork in the home of local wineries/vineyards etc.
Walking in from the main entry, you'll come into the fully furnished kitchen with an eat-in bar area. The large windows in front of the sink face toward the lake and there is a set of sliding patio doors from the kitchen out onto the deck. There is a grill, outdoor dining table, and hammock on the deck and a huge back yard with a firepit area.
The Dining Room has a large farmhouse table and a bar top area set up between the Dining Room and Living Room where you can enjoy a drink while watching a game on the smart TV in the Living Room. The Living room has patio doors on to the deck, a smart tv, and comfortable couches. There is a full bath on the main floor with a tub/shower.
The bedrooms are all on the second floor. The primary bedroom has a King bed and a balcony overlooking the lake. There are 2 additional bedrooms, one with a Queen bed and the other bedroom has 2 Twin beds. The second floor also has a full bath with a tub/shower.
The home is in a very rural setting and you'll enjoy seeing snatches of wildlife outside!

This home is a perfect get-away spot for families. The home is in a convenient location to many state parks, museums, and wineries. Our family enjoyed watching movies, playing games, and having a fire in the pit while taking in the beautiful view of Lake Keuka. Also, our dog was able to come along and stay with us here!
The beautiful view was the icing on the cake for us. Home was very comfortable and clean, just as described. Peaceful surroundings and location was very convenient for us.
Loved the house. Yes it is over a century old but improvements made you not even notice it. The view was amazing. The communication was great and so were the amenities. We loved our stay!
Magnificent views, awesome decks, clean, well stocked and spacious. Better than the photos. Ruth was a gracious and thoughtful host. She made us feel very welcome with the extra chairs, pre-prepped fire and birthday treat! Exceeding all expectations. Thank you!
This house is very clean, well stocked, and well maintained. It could easily accommodate 6 people. The weather was cold, rainy, and windy during our stay, so we couldn’t enjoy the outdoor space. But the decks, yard, fire pit, etc all looked really inviting. Highly recommend!
The view was gorgeous and truly blessed for the opportunity. A little more attention to detail for the kitchen-especially the sink, wine glasses, a few dishes and stove. Upon arrival I had to shovel snow and salt-creating a walkway for me and my mom. Other than a few minor concerns that can be resolved for future guest - I would recommend this place. Take the time to visit this quiet place of peace.
Call of the Bluff sits high above Keuka Lake with incredible views far up the lake and of the rolling hills and scenery across from it. The deck on the ground level was an big feature. It is very spacious and the deck off the master bedroom also accorded amazing views as well. Large windows and patio doors opens the house up to the natural setting as well as the views. The house was spacious, very clean and very well equipped. We have no negative comments about this property.
The view was fabulous, as was the outdoor living space. The property is not well suited for 2 couples with one bath upstairs with bedrooms and the other bath on the main level. The kitchen was great, well stocked but the sink was pretty disgusting. Nothing that a little Soft Scrub with bleach or Mr Eraser wouldn’t take care of. All in all a nice property, just better suited for a family with kids.
This is a wonderful place. Beautiful views well stocked and comfortable. The hosts were great. We spent Christmas week and the decorations up around the house made us feel very festive
Wonderful property with excellent views and close to several wineries! House was incredibly clean and the beds very comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked and the upper and lower porches were great for morning coffee and evening dinners. Hosts were responsive and check in/out was easy! We had a fantastic trip and hope to be back!
This place on the bluff did not disappoint. The photos do not do this house justice. So peaceful, gorgeous views, remarkably clean house, well equipped kitchen, bathroom, and rooms! They even give you soap and shampoo! Furniture was comfortable as well just an amazing VRBO rental all around. There is so much to do even in the winter being near Watkins Glenn. One of the best things is Bully Hill Winery is directly across from the house you can see the stunning views from everywhere here. We will be back for sure. Thank you for such an amazing stay!!
We enjoyed so much last year we booked again for this summer and we were not disappointed. Love the location and the view. Convenient to wineries, the race track and restaurants. Comfortable home. Thank you for another pleasant stay
We had a great weekend enjoying the view from this wonderful home. The home was well stocked and very comfortable. It’s in a great location for winery touring and close to Watkins Glen for the race weekend. So easy to communicate with property manager. On our list to return!
House was wonderful. Both inside and outside. The view was stunning and there were chairs outside to enjoy the lovely weather. Although it would have been nice to use the fire ring, we respected the ban due to the drought conditions. We would love to come back. The picture of the view is what it is!
Even in the very cold of winter, our stay was amazing! The owners were great, they had everything ready when we arrived and were so prepared we didn’t need to contact them for anything, even though they had simple instructions on how to if needed. We will definitely return!!!
Our family had a wonderful time at this home. We enjoyed the comfy beds, appreciated the art throughout the home, and took in great views of the lake that made us super relaxed!

This property is very nice. Impeccably clean and comfortable. It has a lovey covered patio where you can sit and enjoy the scenic view. The location is conveniently located to Hammondsport and other places in the area.
Terrific spot with great views, in the heart of the Finger Lakes region. Great mornings with coffee on the deck, evenings by the fire pit. Very comfortable and spacious for four; everything was clean, lots of glasses, plates, pots, etc. Sorry to leave!
The house was beautiful- the grounds spectacular- the upstairs was a little odd with steps going into rooms and bathrooms-would have liked to have blinds on the window in the master bedroom-other than that it was a really really nice home and we enjoyed our stay
The house was clean and very comfortable. Very well appointed with consistent decor throughout the whole house. Clear and concise instructions to check in/out made it less stressful upon arrival and departure. Excellent location to access the FLX region with just a short drive to Hammondsport (a hidden gem). The master bedroom was huge and the king size bed was very comfortable. Upper and lower decks offered great views of Lake Keuka with the fire pit providing another place to watch the sunset, listen to the birds chirping and watching the boats traverse Lake Keuka until it got dark. Once the sun went down, the real show began with the endless night sky providing a view of thousands of stars that most of us rarely ever see. A nice big yard gave our dog room to roam and sniff all the sniffs she could get in every day. It was a very very hot and humid week (of course until the last day) and the window air conditioners worked really hard to keep the house cool but they could only do so much. The only issue we felt was the house being located on a fairly well travelled road by cars, motorcycles and big trucks traveling at high rates of speed so, at times, the road noise did provide some disturbances (nothing worse than a trucker using their engine brake coming down the hill at 6:00 AM)…Overall we would highly recommend staying at Call of the Bluff…a nice place to stay and unwind for a few days.
