A good hotel for a short stay

Hamburg is a good hotel for a short stay, in a very good location. It is only 3 minutes walk from train and bus central stations and 10 minutes walk from shopping area. The room and all the areas of the hotel were clean and the staff friendly. The breakfast was very good. .

Not recommended

Please dont book here. We arrive and area its located in isnt a nice area and its above a adult shop. Staff upon check in was rude. The room was okay to just put your head down if you can sirens are every few minutes and no breeze through window as you open it and wall is right there. The bathroom is very very small. Breakfast was nice and variety of options and staff then was nice and polite. But other than that not somewhere i would ever recommend.

This property serves a purpose, the breakfast is good and the staff friendly and it is a short walk from the train station. Please note our room was not as per the pictures shared on Expedia and was a lot more dated.

We stayed for one night only but def the images shared for the hotel do not match real life. It looks like a completely different place. Its an older version of what you're seeing. We stayed there because of the closeness to the central station but would not be inclined to repeat our visit

Only good point is easily walkable from Bahnhof Sud. Steindamm is busy, noisy, atmospheric but at night changes almost Zombie like into a nether world of drug addicts, beggars and prostitutes. Not for a female solo traveller. Rooms are unchanged from the 1970s, old room keys, dirty carpets but pleasant staff and a limited price inclusive buffet breakfast. Poor VFM in my opinion in a major city with many competitive cost effective hotels.

It was fine

The hotel is fine. The street outside is terrible and I would say not suitable for women traveling alone or with kids. The service was very nice , breakfast was fine too. The room was ok but nothing modern to it. I was not expecting something wow when i booked it but when we arrived i was shocked and immediately felt unsafe.The good thing is that once you are in the hotel that feeling goes away.

Hotel is basic but clean and staff are friendly and helpful.Breakfast was good the small restaurant does get busy and is only open for breakfast. Nothing to do with the hotel at all but the area around the accommodation is rough. Lots of prosititutes and beggars which was not a major concern but the open drug users and number of alcoholics is unbelievable. It is not somewhere i would take children, there were things going on that as an adult i should not have been privvy too. 300m down the road in any direction and the culture changes for the better. Being honest i would not stay here again purely based on the area and activities outside the hotel, which is a shame because i have no faults with the hotel itself.

The hotel is placed in an area full of people who take drugs, drink and so on, next door is a sexshop. The pictures doesn't not match what you get. In my room the carpet was broken the curtain was broken and it just looked dirty. In the pictures of breakfast you see scrambled eggs and bacon - there were ni such thing and when i ask the staff they dont even understand English.

Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen. Das Personal ist freundlich und das Frühstück in Ordnung. Leider ist es am Steindamm auch nachts nicht ruhig! Es sind einige aus der Rotlicht bzw. Drogenszene im Bereich des Hotels. Verlässt man das Hotel wird man Zeuge wie offen Drogen verkauft und eingenommen werden. Ein Gefühl der Sicherheit hatte ich nicht wirklich.

Für ein bis zwei Tage ok. Beim Frühstück zu wenig Sitzplätze. Personal na ja. Zimmer na ja. Vor dem Hotel nur Gesindel (Junkies,Farbiege,u.s.w) Direkt unter dem Hotel ein Sexkino (auf den Fotos vom Hotel nicht zu sehen). Ansonsten sehr zentral gelegen,nicht weit bis zum Bahnhof. Wie gesagt für ein bis zwei Nächte ok. Positiv: Polizei permanent vor Ort.

Small ,comfortable hotel with few big minus points

Hotel is clean ,and breakfest was good. Room and bed was comfortable. In other hand location of the hotel is restless.It is located in the street part where many drugusers and smokers spend time through the day and night. Even as window closed the noises of fights,arriving ambulances and yelling of people on the street can be heard without willing. Not the safest entrance from the street in to hotel. Staff at cleaning and breakfest room was pleasent and friendly. Staff at reception was harder to reach and talk to and less welcoming.

Själva hotellet var helt okej, uppfräschat badrum och rent. Badrumsfläckten var täckt av damm, inte super trevligt. Obehagligt område, finns en sexklubb precis bredvid och där finns det många skumma människor utanför. Jättemånga hemlösa i området, men kände sig inte alls trygg. Rekommenderar inte

Hamburgs värsta läge

Fruktansvärt läge. Bredvid hotellet låg en sexshop/bordell. Det var stökigt och oroligt utanför på kvällen med fylla, knark och slagsmål. Vi vågade knappt gå ut. Väldigt störande med ljud från gatan på kvällen. Ingen AC på rummet… jättevarmt! Fönstret gick inte att ha öppet pga allt oväsen utanför. Hamburgs värsta läge! Svårt med parkering.
