Does what it does on the tin.Rooms at the back level 5 near the lift are very noisy at night.You hear the lift then when that stops you hear the trains on the track at the rear. Staff very good when we asked to change rooms and there was no problem in doing so.

I like that is quite close to the station, shops and restaurants. Bed was comfortable, bathroom spotless and it was a nice stay. Only problem is that you can hear the trains at night, but it is not too bad!

Too noisey from railway.
A lot of noise from the railway interrupted sleep on both nights. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room, a basic standard for any reasonable hotel.

Some staff were helpful. Good breakfast. Several staff were rude and not helpful. No air conditioning for first three night and window opened to very noisy (all hours) train station. No ice machine and TV did not work.

Great location
Hotel was well located with garage underneath. Rooms are basic but its an ibis. Slept well, apart from a few orange spiders that seemed to be around ine of the beds.

Rude reception
We had to spend the night in Hamburg due to major train delays. The reception at night was not welcoming at all; rude, frustrated and very unwelcoming to the point we were almost refused stay because, only because we made the reservation last minute and their system couldn't see it. The room was clean, comfortable, all ok.

Convenient hotel close to Hamburg Central Station
The hotel location is very convenient. It is a typical Ibis - simple and comfortable. During the day you can hear the trains (the hotel is very close to Hamburg Central Station) but at night there is little traffic.

Loved the location. Breakfast was good. Waffles were a fabulous idea. Maybe some toast would be great too. The shower door let water out onto the bathroom floor.

Easy walking distance from both the main station and the city centre. Room large enough and bed comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful at check in, little contact otherwise. Buffet breakfast good, reasonable selection but didn't find the 'normal' tea bags {i.e. English Breakfast!} Would have liked an entertainment tv station in English, there were some in other languages but not English. Overall I would recommend this hotel for a reasonably priced short break in Hamburg.

Excellent location on alster lake (side view from the window), within minutes walk distance from the main station. Check in starts at 3 pm, so adjust your arrival plans.

This hotel has two major advantages. First, it has air conditioning, which is rare in northern Europe. Second, the rooms are sound-proof. The location is also very convenient, within easy walking distance of the railway station and Hamburg's main shopping area. However, amenities are basic: they could not provide me with an iron, my room had no refrigerator, and there was no coffee machine in the room.

Quite noisy with the train track behind the hotel. Get any room that dose not face the tracks. A bit of an odd route getting to the main elevators, quite a walk around the hotel function rooms. Proximity to Lake Alster makes up for everything.
