It is close to a grocery store, the subway and the water, so getting around is pretty easy.

I chose to stay here because it was very close to the water and had seemingly great views. It was a very close distance to the tour boats and has large stairs leading down to the river. It is a very cool property. When booking, I looked at each room and selected this one because it was the only room showing a balcony and river view. When we checked in, I was given a room with no view at all. Somewhat deceived, I called the desk and she had one to switch me into saying I had the choice (I didn’t have any choices at booking.) but I appreciated how easy it was to get what I thought I paid for! The hotel is full of fascinating maritime decor and unique pieces of history - we loved to admire the lobby and hotel bar. Parking our car was pretty in the ramp, and was located directly underneath our hotel tower. The only thing I’m bummed about it that given how I booked this hotel for the view, the tower bar was the largest part of that. It was a big draw. My ancestors emigrated out of this harbor so the view was important to me! The tower bar was closed for maintenance the two evenings we were there… we weren’t even allowed to look at it. Had I known, I would have chose a different hotel honestly. We certainly still enjoyed our stay; but we only stayed two days and one night so I was trying to make the most of it. I would recommend this hotel, and stay there again if we had access to all of the treasures.

I didn't feel I got our monies worth. No air conditioning meant opening the window and hearing the train just yards from your window. The staff was fine.

This place was great! Excellent location with amazing views from the restaurant and Tower Bar. Many bars and restaurants in a short walking distance. The Hard Rock Cafe is just down the hill, on the Landbrucke. The Reeperbahn is a short walk and has many bars and restaurants. The room even had a apple provided every day to keep the doctor away. The apple was literally on a stand with that saying below it. How cool is that? I highly recommend this hotel.

Great stay nice staff.
Comfy bed, friendly and helpful staff. Nice touches in the room and very clean. The only downside for me as a Brit is they didn’t have a kettle for a cuppa. But other than that very good value.

Noise
Window was 75 feet from noisy and squeaky commuter train. Windows we’re open as there is no air conditioning. Could only sleep when train was not running between 12:30 am and 5:30am.

Overrated hotel with incredibly noisy night!
Truely an overrated hotel. No facilities whatsover, it just has a good location. Room is terrible, size is ok, bathroom as well but the location.... it was above a train track so till very late at night and then again very early morning incredible noise!! Worst sleep in ages! Weird paying top bill to get a bigger room and then it has such a location. Also the room is in another building with a weird deserted entrance. Breakfast was nice but why 24 euro?!?!?! Overall overrated hotel!!

Was on the 8th floor in the tower, vey nice view of the river, but even with windows closed you can hear the rumble of the tube trains going past the building lower down and this can disturb you on the early morning if you are not used to noise. Also only one pillow - but once asked another was supplied so good service.

Excellent location. Previous reviews stated the property is dated. I disagree, the decor is in accordance with the them of the ship and harbor given the location. The decor is not chic contemporary and the property is well maintained and impeccably clean. The bathroom was recently remodeled. Great location near Dom and harbor.

Very quirky, friendly hotel. Stayed 2 nights on a business trip. Room was small but well organised and very clean. Breakfast area was very busy but I did go at peak time. Room had no tea/coffee making facilities and as there was so room service I couldn’t order one either when I got back late after a dinner - but I’m sure that’s covid related rather than the hotels fault. They stored my luggage for me after I checked out which helped too. Very easy to walk to central Hamburg from here.

There were no parking available on-site and had to park in a sister hotel 300 meters away. The location is convenient. The room as too warm and couldn't adjust the air conditioning but a clean room

The room had no A/C, which in the current Europe summer made the room very uncomfortable, even at night, but the worst was that we were changed 20 euros per person for the breakfast buffet, the same kind of mediocre breakfast buffet that’s included for free in any Holiday Inn.

The room was relatively small, but comfortable and clean. Nice location - close to public transport and on walking distance to a lively night entertainment area with a variety of dining opportunities. Friendly staff.

Don't Stay Here in the Summer - no A/C - Very HOT
Highly disappointed with my stay. Room has no A/C and was miserably hot. No screen on windows meant that if I opened them (as advised by staff) that bugs would come fly in. My room was filled with bugs during the night because of the bright outside lights just outside my window. Staff was unhelpful when I brought it to their attention.

Give it a miss.
It was 105 degrees outdoors. The hotel room room had no air conditioner. There were no room windows to open and we were not able to leave the door open because security would be compromised. The room view was stunning. However, because the sun hit our floor to ceiling glads doors for much of the day, it was impossible to relax in the room. The room fan worked very well, circulating hot air evenly through the room. We sweltered for two nights. It was a relief to leave. Hamburg is a wonderful, energized city. We will be back. But we won’t stay at the Hotel Hafen Hamburg.
