Lovely boutique hotel. We had a very spacious room for myself and my 2 teenage daughters. The room was beautifully decorated as was the little loungeroom that could be used by any of the guests. Easy walk to the main train station and main centre of the city. We had a wonderful stay.

Hotel selection made on account of relative closeness to Hbf. It's a standard hotel of its type. Don't let the area bother you, it's of no consequence and as an elderly male I had no problems. Checkin was a breeze. My room was comfortable and of a reasonable size, as was the bathroom and all the other facilities. I liked the large chandelier in the room! I didn't breakfast there so can't comment. The major adverse point is the lack of a lift. People with a mobility issue should not consider this place. Otherwise I was fine with it. 3 stars instead of 4 though.

Smashing little hotel
We loved our stay at the Hotel City House. The weather was very hot when we were there so we chose to sleep with the windows open, which meant we were disturbed by residents in the adjacent rooms and people in the dining room outdoor exit talking in the late evening and early hours.

Old school environment
Nice and cozy place with a quite side road to a busy street. Nice helping clerk at the desk. He beds could be a bit more comfy, they are a bit on the hard side.

Great hotel, recommended.
Super hotel, brilliantly decorated and clean, lovely staff too. The hotel is near central station and thus not the nicest part of the city but I cannot fault the hotel.

Awesome
Great place to stay. I love the antique furnitures felt like I was in a castle. Clean n quite. Cafe Curiousa is a few minutes away. Great place to have Dinner really romantic atmosphere.added a couple of pictures.

Wonderful central location close to train station and all public transportation. Close by shopping streets, Rathuis, Landungsbrucken. St. Pauli, The Alster, etc... Vibrant international neighborhood, which I enjoyed.

A really nice place
Lovely place, slightly old fashioned, but with the heart in the right place. The local area is really mixed bag (as so often around the big central train stations)

A warm, cozy hotel close to everything. A five minute walk from the main station and 2 major museums. Wonderful staff. Rooms have everything. Hotel guests enjoy tea or drinks in front of a fire place. Very good and reasonable breakfast.

Lovely hotel near Central Station
Lovely Hotel and staff. The local area might be a touch unsettling, but we found it safe. Our critism is poor wifi on upper floors.

Great hotel in city centre location
From the pictures, it looks like a small town house hotel, but in reality it is a much larger hotel that manages to maintain an intimate feeling. Friendly and helpful staff, and immaculately clean. Had a single room, which had a queen sized bed in - the room was fairly small but very well appointed. Unusually reasonable mini-bar prices. The location is right in the heart of the St Georg nightlife area. Although the area had a slightly edgy feel to it which might not be to everyone's taste, it felt reasonably safe even late at night. The hotel is tucked away in a side street and was reasonably quiet.

Comfortable Hotel without any Lifts.
Overall a good hotel, right in the centre of Hamburg City. Breakfast was a bit of a let down. For a 4-Star hotel was expecting more items to chose from at Breakfast. Also would expect a lift in a 4-star hotel.

Central and spacious
Good, tidy hotel with spacious room (at least in the category Comfort, which I took). Quite central and only 5 mins by foot to the main station. Very central and not as busy as St Pauli for example. The area is not the prettiest at night, but taxis are not expensive. Quite a few restaurants around Hansaplatz 1 minute walk away.

Great Hotel
This is a great hotel, warm, comfortable, great staff and good decor, big rooms great mini bar and generally a fabulous place. The only down side is it's situation which to be honest makes you feel a little uncomfortable when walking through the high street, lots of looks and stares, like you might be accosted at some point. Best to turn left out of the hotel and walk along the main road, once at the u and s bahn stations the city is your oyster. If you want the shops it's just one stop so pay for a singly trip.

Ok, but not a 4-star hotel
It's very conveniently located 5 mins walk from main train station. There is NO ELEVATOR, we had to take our luggage ourselves up 4 floors. It's clean and staff is friendly, but definitely not a 4-star hotel as rated on the site.

European Adventure - Hamburg Stop
There were three of us traveling and the room was great!!! The hotel location is really close to the train station - but the area was a little questionable. We walked one block in the opposite direction and it was a completely different vibe.

Walking in at night is a scary experience. Wi-Fi was not working for me in the first day and the suggestions made by the staff were not helpful. It did work on the second day.

Nice hotel close to transportation
An older hotel, in walking distance from the HH-Hauptbahnhof, was tastefully decorated, rooms very clean and comfortable, the staff was very friendly, accommodating and helpful. A convenient and nice breakfast buffet is available. Overall a very good experience.

Although the area didn't feel unsafe, it just wasn't very pleasant to walk through every day - a red light area plus lots of mobile phone/phone abroad shops, with big groups of men just hanging around on street corners. I don't usually get bothered about that kind of thing, but it deterred me from going to and from the hotel more than once a day. It is however only ten minutes from the main station so it's good for transport. That said, it's a very friendly & comfortable small hotel, and the rooms are very well-equipped. It's a bit over-furnished, which made the room feel stuffy in the warmish weather. There's no lift. Breakfast is served in a very stuffy downstairs room that felt cramped, and I had to share a table. That felt incredibly uncomfortable as a lone traveller. The buffet wasn't worth 11€ I felt, so my second day I got breakfast elsewhere. So a decent little hotel but it wasn't the right choice for me.

The hotel was conveniently located with only a 8 min. walk from the main train station. The tourist office at the train station immediately stated that this property is known to be very good.

A good value in a very expensive city. Comfortable bed, warm welcoming room, clean bathroom and large shower, tasty varied breakfast and kind helpful staff. The only tiny drawback was the neighborhood which, though convenient to the train station and other sites, was itself a bit uninteresting.

Great Hotel
Great hotel if the neighbourhood was better you would be paying at least twice the price and it would still be a bargain. The staff were very helpful.
