"Every room was immaculately clean and tastefully dressed. The cupboards were well stocked with more than enough for 4 people. The weather was not good to us but would imagine in the spring/summer the outside space would add to the enjoyment of staying here. Will return to find out!"

"Beautiful character property, I was taking my elderly parents to visit friends and relatives in the area, I also had my 12 year old son and our young dog with us and it was a perfect space for all. Very clean and tidy, lovely bed linens and wonderful outside space for the dog. "

"The Squirrels is in a great location especially if you have a dog. The grounds are absolutely beautiful.The place is clean and all very neat. But very limited on space. It’s is what it is a Shepards hut!!! A must if you are in the area is the Tin Roof Cafe entrance is in the garden centre on the main road to Danbury. Also The Cricketers in Danbury their food is amazing especially Sunday roast it’s a must."

"Wonderfully rustic property in a brilliant location. Hosts were gracious and welcoming and made sure we were settled. Local White Horse pub (minutes away, walkable if you're feeling energetic) is a must for their housemade pizza and in-house brewery. Great weekend getaway ... highly recommended."

"Lovely cottage, very clean, warm & cosy. Nice welcome pack on arrival, bread, butter, tea, coffee, OJ, milk, etc. Nice size secure garden for my two dogs. A little confusing to find at first, postcode stops you further down the road but the instructions from owner how to carry on are quite clear.Only downside for me was it being on a fairly busy country road, not mentioned in the listing, so it wasn't possible to take my dogs for just a local walk in the area and nearest dog walking area was 3...

"Everything was as listed….the log burner was an added feature which we were happy to use on rainy days. The location was really goid… Colchester close and historically very interesting. North of the city was Constable country… nice walks and interesting info on the artists. South we enjoyed Tiptree museum, and the Salt marshes for walking and photography. Ovreall it was everything we wished for “"
