Stayed in this hotel for a total of 9 days in the suites on the 16th floor. It was the closest hotel to relatives that live nearby which was the reason for staying here. The suites were a nice size and relatively quiet high above the traffic noise. The bed was typically hard for China but not so much that it was like a brick like some other hotels we stayed at. The sheets and towels were very nice and the room was nice quality and size overall. My biggest complaint was the carpeting was filthy with hair and stains everywhere. It didn't matter which room we stayed in that theme was the case and the hallways were similar. Housekeeping did have a vacuum and used it but it apparently isn't working well or needs the filter changed because the problem with hair on the carpets never changed. We never ate here so can't rate the food but breakfast was not included as is common in China and was an expensive extra cost add on. Air conditioning system didn't really seem up to the task either. It worked adequately at night but almost seemed as if it was turned off during the days as the room never cooled off. Check-in was particularly slow especially when we arrived late at night after a delayed flight. They state that they are a four star rated hotel but I certainly wouldn't place them in that category.

"Convenient for what I needed and for public transport to centre"
If you're looking for a nice hotel in the Haidian district of Beijing, this is the perfect choice. However, very few staff spoke English and that was a little challenging at times but they were friendly and helpful! The hotel was clean, the room was big and clean and the spa offered a wide range of massages and treatments.
Taxi to the airport from the hotel cost RMB 120; taxi fare to Tiannemen Square was about RMB 65. Buses were right outside and cost 20p to the Subway which also cost 20p to get into the centre or to most places of interest.

This is a good hotel, and especially convenient for visitors to Peking University (or Tsinghua probably). But despite being less than 10 years old it is showing some wear. I had no hot water the first evening, and the desk chair was broken (wouldn't go up/down so I was stuck with a chin-level work desk!)

Billed as 4 star. Not as high a standard as western 4 star. Bit like UK Travelodge. Very comfy bed. No window with view but window which opened into internal light well so very dark. If room with window looking out onto street is required this needs to be made clear when booking. Breakfasts good wide range buffet. Asked for non smoking room. This was a smoking room but no odour of cigarettes although occasional wafts from other rooms. If non smoking room required need to insist on it. Whole of sixth floor is billed as non-smoking floor. Staff in general very helpful.
