Great place to Stay will book again

While the hotel was comfortable and staff helpful we felt we overpaid and were furious over the extra $200 per room for facilities or resorts fees! The place was far from a resort - no amenities except a workout room and dining area. The bar was crowded so we bought drinks and took them to an area outdoors. We were told we couldn’t bring them out! The breakfast was good but what a convoluted mess to get there….u had to go to the lobby, give your name and room number and then wait until an elevator came and transported you back upstairs…all in your party ha to be present or they couldn’t sit with you! I will never stay at another Riu anywhere in the world!

The hotel staff are all accommodating, free breakfast have a huge array of choices.

If you are a light and sensitive sleeper, bring ear plugs. I am not at all, so the rattling and squeaking window AC unit was not a problem for me. The AC unit worked so well. Never used the heater. For two full beds in the room we had a lot of floor space considering it being NY. The elevators are small and have no AC. The lounge is pretty. It’s greatly located. A short walk down to Times Square. It’s was noisy at all in the hotel and even though the beds weren’t great to sleep in, if you do NY right, it won’t matter and you will sleep just fine. They provide soft blankets to sleep with which has been a first for me and a nice touch. Safe, iron and board, tv, small table and two chairs. The bathroom was obviously small but still doable with 4 women on the trip. There is a lack of outlets so bring a power strip or something. Smooth check-in and check out. There was one staff member who seemed grumpy and we would avoid but the rest were great.
