We left before sunup and both of us nearly stumbled off a step that could not be seen as there was no lighting whatever outside the rooms.

Property was fine. Exterior is tattered an torn. Junk/ vacuum cleaners and storage stuff all over. Jacuzzi was a joke. Breakfast should not be an offering. Was expecting more based on reviews. There are better offerings.

The non-smoking room was on the second floor but the rooms below were smoking rooms so our room reeked of smoke, especially in the bath room. Not nice.

The unit is very clean and efficiently designed. We enjoyed the basic yet functional layout of the room and the entire complex. The proximity to Main Street, the Pioneer Museum and a park are plusses.

Stay here when in Gunnison

Excellent, very well maintained. Owners friendly, kind and responsive people. Great to stay in such an excellent ,family run hotel.

Great heat!

The thing I enjoyed the most about the room was the fact that the heating system is hot water, so there is no on/off of a fan going!

Nice hotel and close to the University

Very nice to me. Room was clean. I had trouble with the wifi but we had some very rainy weather and we were in the mountains so internet is probably iffy at best.

It follow all the ABC's

The ABC Motel in Gunnison was a very nice place to stay this past weekend, on a quick Labor Day trip through the high country. The room was small but absolutely spotless, and the location on Highway 50 made it convenient to every restaurant in town. What made it really great was the person at the front desk (I'm assuming an owner?). She was so helpful with suggestions for meals, for directions, etc. I would definitely return the next time I'm heading that way.

Beautiful flower pots around lobby appear to be lovingly cared for. Clean room, older building, minimal 'breakfast.' My room had a newer flat Panal TV (versus what I saw in some of the motel room photos). Good enough.

Takes the hospitable out of hospitality.

It was very clean and comfortable enough. Although dated, it had everything we needed for our short stay, and is near downtown which is fun, and near western state so it was very helpful. As far as the host goes.......could use some hospitality training. A sign in the lobby went out of the way to say "we are not pot friendly". Either am I as far as that goes, and I always insist on a smoke free room, it's a deal breaker for me. We laughed and said, they should take the "pot" out so it reads "we are not friendly". They should not advertise a hot tub, It's more like a bath tub in a utility room and is never open when we could use it, which I believe is the intention. The rooms still have actual keys, forcing you to have another unpleasant interaction with the host, time for an upgrade there.

Hidden gem in Gunnison!

Our stay at the ABC Motel, was perfect. Our host was graciously flexible when our plans changed due to the weather. But wait - as we got up in the morning, we found towels on our bikes to dry them off!!!

Very nice older motel, in center of town

I liked this motel. It's an older property, in what I think of as 1950s wooden motel style, but it's tidy, clean, and very well maintained. My room was neat as a pin. The owners were friendly and helpful. The rates include a breakfast, but it's a very minimalist breakfast.

Great location!

I loved everything about this motel. It's very old fashioned. Which fits gunnison perfectly. It's walking distance to all the restaurants. The room was one of the cleanest I've seen. Every afternoon pulling in from my ride. The owner of the hotel would guide me backing in my trailer. We would talk about 20 to 30 mins about the day and how it went. Extremely nice guy! Nice and quiet at nite. The beds could be a little more comfortable. That one thing wouldn't stop me from staying again though. I will definitely be back!
