Lovely Beachfront Getaway ~ Steps To The Water ~ Fantastic Ocean Views!

Enjoy the beautiful sandy beaches and see the dolphins while relaxing in a rocking chair in the covered back patio. This lovely beachfront getaway cottage sleeps 8-10 comfortably in one king-size bed, one queen-size bed and 4 bunk beds, with two full-size sofas in the family room (they do not fold out, but people can sleep on them).

Replaced flooring and sofas in January, 2022. We removed the tile and installed a waterproof laminate - so far guest feedback has been very positive. We also replaced the roof in 2021, and the ocean-side windows in 2020. It never ends!

Family-friendly, clean and very unique as it is surrounded by palm trees and other Gulf Coast vegetation. Large screen television with DVD and Roku (streaming). There are no paid-for television channels (streaming only).

Guests frequently rent both sides of the Duplex (Dolphin West and Sea Turtle East) if they wish to have more bedrooms, yet have two separate living areas (one side for Grandparents, and the other side for young children, etc.) - total capacity on both sides is 20, with six bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Renting both sides at once is frequently more economical than renting a comparable 6 bedroom home (with only one living area) in Fort Morgan.

We deal with many repeat visitors, which is the best testimonial of all. We are confident that once you visit our home, we will be seeing you again and again . . .

Enjoyed our week here. Nice to have a spot right on the beach without large crowds. House was clean and beds were comfy. Especially LOVED that the back deck was covered! The family really enjoyed sitting in the Adirondack rocking chairs without being in direct sun- able to enjoy a nice breeze and view of the ocean.

Great Location

Great Location

Perfect location. Just walk out the door and right on the beach. It was great for my elderly mom since walking on the sand is hard for her. Communication with Keith was great. We had a very relaxing week even with the stormy weather.

We loved our stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this property. We were looking for a spot away from the crowds and this was definitely it!!! The walk to the beach is just a few short steps. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and all appliances worked just fine. we had plenty of towels, our bed in the primary bedroom was comfortable. The second bedroom was missing a comforter but we weren’t too bothered. We had lovely neighbors for the week who we thoroughly enjoyed getting to know. It was nice to make friends but if that’s not your jam, the outdoor areas are separate enough to feel like you have your own space. Keith was quick to respond to our questions. Overall I would say this is a no frills, affordable place to stay and we would definitely stay here again.

Great Getaway Spot!

This house was perfect for our group of six. Plenty of room for everyone. The location is amazing - literally steps from the beach! The listing was a little unclear about the fact that this a duplex. We weren’t even sure which side of the house was ours when we arrived and just hoped that we didn’t freak out the neighbors by trying to open the wrong door. The owner was very responsive to our messages upon arrival. Would definitely book this property again!

Dolphin Duplex

Very relaxing and just steps to the beach. If you’re looking for quiet & secluded during September, this is it. Only one busy beach day. Only two minor complaints: 1) thermostat read mid 80’s upon arrival. 2) Windows were really dirty to the beach. Otherwise very comfortable.

Great week.

Kitchen missing a few things. You have about 14 skillets but only one saucepan. We bought measuring spoons and cups and left them for the next guests. The location is good, easy walk onto the beach. We were really impressed that both sides of the duplex were occupied and we didn’t hear a sound from the other side.

Location can NOT be beat!

This was our second year spending spring break here. Last year we stayed on the sea turtle side and this year we were dolphin side. The location absolutely can NOT be beat especially for the price. You are literally steps away from the beach at the back door. Nice amenities inside the house, furniture is not super fancy but the place is clean and it was perfect for us. We traveled with four adults, and four children under the age of eleven. Beach is not overly busy and host (Keith) was super fast at responding any time we had a question. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Yearly getaway

Fort Morgan is always the best. The listing is outdated and needs to be updated. There were contractors there when we arrived and trash everywhere. That would have been nicer to know beforehand. We probably wouldn't have booked here. If you plan to cook anytime the oven works great but the stove top doesn't work at all. Location is awesome. For the price it was good. Hopefully it's better when the upgrades are done. It needs work.

Location can’t be beat

Overall, the location can not be beat as it was 50 steps from the back porch to our set up on the beach - we were able to watch the baby monitor from the beach during nap time. However, the reason I didn’t automatically book again for next year is because of the cleanliness of the home. There was nothing devastatingly disgusting, but the home is older and definitely has not undergone a deep, thorough cleaning in some time. We actually messaged the host upon our arrival regarding the cleanliness status in the home and he acted quickly to have the cleaner come back out and address our complaints. The cleaners spot cleaned a few areas that were obviously not touched prior to our arrival. I attribute a large part of the cleanliness issue to the work ethic of the cleaners and not necessarily any lack of care from the owner. I appreciate the lengths the owner went to to address our concerns and the ease in communicating with him.

Best thing was the view

I read & rely heavily on reviews, so feel it's important to be honest about our experience. This house has a great location and beautiful view and was sufficient for our week long vacation, but that's the best I can say! We arrived for check in at 4:00 and the entire duplex was still not cleaned, so right off the bat had to call the owner and he handled it, but what a terrible way to start your much anticipated vacation, especially after driving for 10 hours to get there! The pictures of the house, on VRBO, are not current and were obviously taken prior to neighboring houses being built within spitting distance of it. Our neighbors were fine, but just keep it in mind. The furniture is dated, the stove top (inside burners) appears broken and some of them don't work properly, while others didn't work at all and the smelled like electrical when trying to use it (seems like a hazard to me). The shower for the guest rooms didn't work at all- no water (I sure was glad my kids didn't end up coming with us). Also, be aware that although the kitchen is well stocked, you will need to bring a lot of stuff: dish soap,spices/salt/pepper/oil,trash bags (after the 1st one was used, there were no others) and there was only 1 kitchen towel and 1 dish rag provided for the kitchen. Thankfully we spent the majority of our time on the beach, so we we did enjoy the week, but for the price we paid I can't honestly say that I'd choose to stay here again.

Getaway to the beach with family!

To start my review I want to express how wonderful the customer service and speed at which the own Keith responds to questions or messages sent. He went out of his way to ensure we had all the information we needed. The home was as expected. We have stayed on the opposite side of the duplex before. The home was clean except for the fact the air vents needed replaced and wiped down. Otherwise clean inside. The kitchen had mostly everything we needed with the exception of scissors and measuring cups/spoons. The home was quiet and we did not hear our neighbors who also had children and several adults. This is always a fear of mine! However we have no complaints. The beach is right out the back deck. I am always interested if a house is actually on the beach and this one is. We saw dolphins multiple times a day. We also saw other sea life stingray, blue bottles, jellyfish, and a couple small sharks. Just a side note about the beach this is NO fault of the owner... the beach I must say was trashy this year. Each day we seemed to see more trash accumulated along the beaches. (maybe this is a common theme with beaches these days?). There was a lot of debris as well: logs, sticks, ect. We have visited Fort Morgan area before and didn't remember the beaches to be so un-kept. Several people along the line left out beach equipment and tents as well. All in all we had a great time, the children didn't notice the things we adults do and we had a great time as a family. Thank you!
