Welcome to the “Alte Försterei”—your historic retreat in idyllic Waltersdorf! This lovingly renovated, rustic half-timbered house combines the traditional charm of a forester’s cottage with modern comforts across two floors.
The heart of the house is the large, original wooden log cabin living room. It offers the perfect, cosy atmosphere for evenings spent with family or friends. After an active day in the Zittau Mountains, you can relax in the in-house sauna or enjoy time with your four-legged friends in the large garden—because dogs are always welcome here!
The house accommodates up to 8 people and is ideal for families with children, hiking groups, and dog owners.

• The Log Living Room: A large, traditional living and dining area made entirely of wood—extremely cosy and the heart of the house.

• Kitchen: Fully equipped with modern appliances (stove, oven, dishwasher, coffee maker) for effortless cooking.

• Bathrooms: 2 modern bathrooms ensure a relaxed start to the day without any crowding.

• Wellness: Private in-house sauna available for free use.

• Free Wi-Fi throughout the house

Flexible bedroom layout (perfect for families):
• Bedroom 1: Cosy double bed.
• Bedroom 2: Cosy double bed.
• Bedroom 3 (Family Room): A spacious area with a double bed and an adjacent, separate room with two single beds. Ideal for parents who want their children close by but still value privacy.

Outdoor Area & Parking:
• Large Garden & Terrace: Plenty of space to relax, for the children to play, or for the dog to run around. The terrace is perfect for cosy barbecue evenings.

• Parking: Convenient parking is available right next to the house.

• Holiday with a Dog: Dogs are warmly welcome here, but must be registered in advance. Please ensure that your four-legged friends do not get on the beds or upholstered furniture. Dog owners must immediately clean up after their pets in the garden.

• Historic Building: Our half-timbered house is a historic building featuring plenty of wood. Please treat the furnishings and the log-paneled living room with care. The house has been carefully renovated. Please note that historic half-timbered houses may have charming, creaky wooden floorboards here and there.

• Smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the entire interior. Please use only the terrace for smoking.

• House Rules: The house is located in a quiet area. Parties or bachelor/hen nights are not permitted.

Please note before booking: In Germany, as hosts, we are legally required to complete an official registration form for all arriving guests.
Since, for data protection reasons, we are only provided with your first name in advance, check-in works as follows: via an online registration form; after a successful booking, you will receive a link from us to our secure pre-check-in system. Please take a moment to fill out the information for all travelling guests online before your arrival. The benefit for you: Immediately after completing the form, you’ll receive your digital Upper Lusatia guest card via email! This allows you to use public transport in the region completely free of charge and enjoy numerous discounts at attractions (e.g., museums, swimming pools, mountain railways).
