The Turk Lake House - Lakefront with Toys and A/C!
The Turk Lake House is a super cute, comfy, and fun cottage home right on Turk Lake, just north of Greenville. Inside, it features new A/C, satellite television, a large living room with dining area, and a full kitchen and bathroom. Outside, it features a private dock, 2 kayaks, a bonfire ring, and outdoor dining furniture! This is a great little romantic getaway for both young couples and older couples, as well as a fun and wonderful retreat for small families and groups
GUEST INTERACTION:
We have a local property manager that is in place to answer any questions and to address any issues that may arise.
NEIGHBORHOOD:
The home is in a residential lakefront community made up mostly of small cottages on Turk Lake. The house is right next door to The Turk Lake Bar and Grill, which features lots of delicious entrees for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also have a large waterfront deck for waterfront dining in the summer. This makes it so that you can easily eat out and avoid cooking if you wish, without even needing to get in your car!
The area is a rural / small town environment. Greenville has a cute historic downtown area with a good selection of shops and restaurants. Greenville has a strong Danish heritage and is the home of the annual Danish Festival. If a bigger city environment is desired, Grand Rapids is less than an hour from the cottage and features a vast array of entertainment, shopping, and dining options.
THE SPACE:
The home is a cute little 2-bedroom, 1-bath cottage right on Turk Lake just outside of Greenville, Michigan. Both of the bedrooms have queen-size beds in them.
TRANSIT:
It is suggested that guests have their own vehicle, but this is not absolutely required.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
1) WINDOWS: The lakeview windows do not open, but other windows do open and there are fans available for guest usage. There is also a mini-split A/C unit in the living room.
2) FLOORS: The floors are slightly, but noticeably, unlevel. This is probably not a big deal for most people, but may be an issue for elderly individuals or those with mobility concerns.
3) PARKING: Please park only in the driveway of the property in front of the brown fence. Please do not park in the parking lot for the restaurant next door.
4) LAUNCHING BOATS / FISHING: Please note that it is not possible to launch boats at the property and Turk Lake does not have a public boat launch. It is possible to fish from the dock though.
5) SMOKING / VAPING: Smoking and vaping of any kind are STRICTLY PROHIBITED INDOORS.
6) PET POLICY: Pets are strictly prohibited at this property.
7) NUMBER OF GUESTS: Please note that our pricing is based upon the number of guests, with pricing being higher with each additional guest that is included on the reservation. Please make certain that the correct number of guests is specified on the reservation so that the pricing is correct.

We will not know until the day before arrival whether or not the property will be available for early check-in or not. You can check with our local property manager the day before arrival or on your arrival day to see if the property will be available for early check-in or not.
9) LATE CHECK-OUT: We maintain a very strict and structured cleaning schedule. As such, late check-outs are strictly prohibited.

Like many stated in other reviews, they really need to stay up on the lawn. It was a mess and led to my fiance falling in a hole by the dock. Superior location and the house itself was cozy. I would stay again. Maybe just pay someone to mow the lawn?
Very good . The bar and grill next door is a plus.

Relaxing
Exceptional spot. So relaxing. The beds were so comfortable. It was nice sitting at the table outside and watching everyone on the water. Having the restaurant next door was great. Awesome food and service. We had a wonderful stay.
The lake was extremely quiet and was perfect for kayaking. Yard was big enough to play cornhole and yard games. The view was great and peaceful to have a small fire at night. Neighborhood seemed quiet and was nice for morning walks. The house had everything you might need or anything you might forget on a getaway and was provided for you. That was much appreciated
Nice clean place. Lake is nice to fish in not to swim to many weeds. Kids had lot of fun catching fish. Need better marked parking when I would leave the people at the bar next door would take my parking spot.
The cottage is cute and has everything you need to enjoy some time away from the busyness and stress of life. The area is quiet and full of friendly people. Turk Lake Inn served delicious food and had friendly wait staff. My husband enjoyed catching and releasing the fish and the kayaks were nice and easy to take around the lake. My girls managed to get out in rafts to swim in the middle of the lake a bit. We loved it and will definitely be back! Thank you for sharing your cottage.
It was ok. The house was clean and the restaurant next door was a big plus. The lawn hadn't been mowed in quite a while and there was old carpet and other trash down by the boat launch so it wasn't pretty when we were sitting outside.

Cute little cottage close to everything!
Cottage is very cute. Dock is a little wonky but it is a nice lake. Bring chairs to sit in outdoors. Bring drinking water because the water tastes and smells like sulphur. Take a good shower before you come because the water smells like sulphur...to the point where you gag. And it doesn't feel like you're clean after you take a shower. Other than that, the beds were comfy (although no door or curtain even on one of the bedrooms) and there were a lot of nice touches throughout the cottage that made it a pleasant stay. Also if you plan to watch any tv bring your Roku stick or whatever streaming service you have because the cable is very limited. Every channel we turned to at night when we wanted to watch before we went to bed said it was "unavailable" with their subscription. There IS an HDMI port on the TV to put your Roku, Fire TV, etc into if you so choose. Would rent again even knowing these things. Just be prepared is all!

We just needed a quick, peaceful getaway. Turk Lake did the job. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Floors were very sloped. Outdated appliances. Internet wasn’t working properly. Couldn’t go on boat pier. Also the smell of the water was foul. Very small shower.

The cottage was clean and the beds were comfortable. The listing does advise that there is a definitive "tilt" to the interior walls and floors and indeed there is. There is nothing fancy about the interior but everything worked and there were sufficient towels and kitchen supplies. One thing, there is no soap except the hand soap in a squirt container. My one negative observation was the condition of the grounds. The grass had not be cut for quite some time, there were piles of old ashes just dumped in the yard, buried in the tall grass, the fire pit was in poor condition, the grill was once a nice one, but it is way past it's life with rusted through portions. There is something wrapped in a tarp along with some other clutter next to the grill. I would not walk on the dock, as it looked pretty shaky. In short the outside does not look like the pictures in the listing, things need a definite cleaning up and maintenance.

Dissatisfied
1. Security cameras facing entrance door and yard. Stated it is for our protection. Felt like an invasion of privacy.
2. Large hole in front of dock. Very dangerous. Friend tripped and twisted ankle.
3. Floors very uneven. Difficult to walk on.
4. Overhang above sink rotted. May be reason for invasion of ants. Which they did take care in a timely manner.
5. It would be nice to put sand up to edge of dock for a swimming area. Lake is very mucky.
6. Need to stock kitchen with sharp knives that have a point. Large bowl and 3 qt. Pot
7. I have not given a poor review, but I find it necessary
