Large restored 4-bedroom 1780 farmhouse house with massive eat in kitchen and dining room with table that seats 10. working wood stove. Perfect for group gathering and or romantic weekends away Enjoy walking around the property that includes 5 large meadows, a creak, firepit, outdoor 8-person hot tub.

Great place to just relax

We were looking for a get-away that was away from everything and this certainly was. It was so relaxing to sit around the indoor wood stove, outdoor firepit, or in the hot tub and just chat. Of note is the property does not have a TV and microwave, in case you expect that there would be. Overall a really great house and location.

Happy Holiday Stay

Charming renovated 1800’s farmhouse was cozy with the fire going on one of the coldest Christmas weekends in a while! The owner, James, stocked up wood for our stay and we loved it! House was airy and bright with lots of windows that let in the sun each morning while we drank our coffee. The bedrooms/beds were comfortable and warm. We so appreciated being able to bring Carlos, our Spanish Water Dog with us. You won’t be disappointed when you stay here!

Peace and tranquillity with no microwave or tv

Peace and tranquillity with no microwave or tv, but all other amenities needed to relax in a off the path large home. Kitchen and bathrooms have been updated. A little too little maintenance on home and space. All surrounding space was overgrown and not well maintained. They are selling the place and did not Inform us of a showing while we were there! Could be a nice property- good enough to Stay in the area! :)

Nice Place, needs work

The good: great woodstove, very homey, nice/clean hot tub, roomy kitchen, bright during daylight, The bad: not the cleanest (e.g. stove/oven, pots and pans, drawers), many items need repair (oven handle, chairs, hood light, drawers, bedframe, woodstove door (we had to fix/improvise some of these to use them)), no lights over kitchen counter/sink, no toaster, no microwave, The ugly: downstairs toilet wouldn't flush so couldn't be used, kitchen/laundry pipes froze, couldn't get hot tub hot enough (very disappointed with that), large gap under front door (had to plug with rug),

Weekend getaway

Overall our stay was good. There were a few things worth noting. The lock on the front door was tricky and you had to really work at it just to unlock and lock the door, not something I wanted to deal with after a long drive. The door on the wood stove does not lock which is a concern for obvious reasons. There was dirt /mud in the upstairs tub that we found at arrival. The house has internet but no tv, no microwave. I’m assuming this is someone’s full time residence more than it is a vacation rental. My biggest concern was the fact that there was a rifle that my kids found under the couch in the living room. I’m extremely upset about that fact. Responsible gun ownership would have you lock it up inaccessible to anyone but the owner, but here, my 2 year old found it while playing on the floor, luckily we were sitting on the couch when it occurred. Inexcusable.
