There was a power outage the evening I arrived. Unfortunate and i suppose nothing the hotel could have done - though I wondered if there was any generator backup? The staff tried hard but it was obvious she was at a loss and all alone. Very few folks in the hotel when I was there and the shower took so long to get warm that I had to cut my losses and move on before it kicked in much later.

A nice place outside St Louis
We wanted to stop east of St Louis to avoid morning rush hour. Service was friendly and fast. It has a hot breakfast. The room was larger than some chains. It doesn’t do those big containers of shampoo etc on the wall which I hate. Who knows what the last guest did to them thinking it’s funny. My only gripe was the vending machines that didn’t take cards and required exact change. Thank goodness they had water and snacks available at the front desk. I really wanted a coke :(

Hot and not in a good way
It started rough due to Hotels.com not reserving the room I paid for through their site. Luckily there was a room available still that I was able to check in to. The service was nice but It was probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at in regards to comfort. Even with the air conditioning on in my room it was was so humid and damp feeling. The common areas of the hotel were unreasonable warm as well. The thermostat in the dining area was set at 75. It was 70 degrees outside and it was so hot and humid throughout the entire hotel. I couldn’t sleep, I was so uncomfortable. I probably wouldn’t choose to stay there again. I couldn’t leave fast enough in the morning. On the plus side, I left my dress in the closet and the staff called me to let me know. I was very thankful for that!

Room was nice and fairly updated; however carpet in the room and elevator and some areas of the property showed excessive wear. Additionally, the coffee maker was on the sink top in the bathroom. I feel that’s unsanitary and it should be in the room somewhere.

Rooms mostly clean except tub could use extra cleaning. And why hotel beds are hard and uncomfortable never ceases to amaze me. That's the main reason people stay in hotels.

We were generally quite satisfied with our stay. The only suggestion we have is that towel bars be added to the bathroom. Towel bars are especially useful when more than one person is staying in the room, and the stay is for more than one day. Currently, the only places to hang wet towels and wash cloths is on hangars in the closet or on the shower curtain rod. The towels did not dry well in the closet, so after the first few days (we were there for a week) we shifted to pushing the shower curtain fully to the end of the rod, and hanging the wet towels and wash cloths on the shower curtain rod. This approach worked better, except the shower curtain stayed wet longer. This is the first hotel that I have ever stayed in that had no towel bars in the bathroom.

Not clean as expected
The room had an odor and clerk would not move us to another room. You could see dust in room. The cups in bathroom next to coffee pot had syrup on them.
