This property had everything we needed for a relaxing family getaway. We appreciated the easy access to the water and the lake views are spectacular! I especially enjoyed drinking my coffee on the dock in the early morning sun.
My stay was absolutely perfect! I had a girls get away and it was everything we could have asked for. The house was as described and very clean, had all the amenities you could need! I would highly recommend renting this property if you're looking for a wonderful, relaxing, and fun get away!
Just like last year, this property was perfect for our group! Comfortably fit 10 adults, was clean, and overall as advertised. Owners are very responsive and easy to work with. Safe to say we’ll be back next year!
Great location, well maintained home and property. Overall a PERFECT rental for our annual Ice Fishing trip! Definitely planning on rebooking next year!
What a beautiful location! Plenty of room and activities, 15-20 minutes from 2 grocery stores and Gray. Great for elderly visitors and for young kids…we loved canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, and soaking it all in! Thank you for a memorable stay!
7 of us stayed for an annual ice fishing trip. Plenty of sleeping room and space for all of us. House had everything we needed and the center of town was 15 minuets away with every store and restaurant you could ever need! Had plenty of fire wood!!!! Would love to stay again!
Shady Grove Lake House far exceeded our expectations. The location, about 30 mins from the airport, coast, shopping (Freeport & Portland) was perfect for venturing out. The house was 10 of 10. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and the little thoughtful things like dozens of beach towels.
Nice, spacious and very clean home with pretty much everything you’ll need. We didn’t spend a lot of time at the property due to other commitments, but we slept well, and found a little time for canoeing. Katie was very easy to work with. Location was good, with a Hannaford and Walgreens about 4-5 miles away. Would definitely recommend.
What a beautiful quiet spot on the lake with a great view from the house and docks . Loved the house and all the windows looking towards the lake and plenty of space for all. 1st day an eagle came down right in front and caught a fish. Katie was quick to answer all questions. Thank you for a great week !
We had a wonderful time staying in this beautiful home! We stayed with another couple (family) to attend my nieces wedding. The view walking into the living room is wonderful! The house is very clean, well stocked and so much room to spread out. Plenty of room for girls getaway, guys fishing or family vacation. I'm definitely getting the joy of lake life!! Coffee and tea on the dock was great! Only warning would be that stairs are very steep to lower level. Definitely would love to come here again with our kids and grandkids. Katie is great to work with and was very quick to respond to any questions.
We rented the house as we had 11 family visiting from California, Massachusetts, and northern Maine and wanted to house everyone in one place to have an early Thanksgiving together. The accomodations were good except for the stove and related electrical issues.During each meal we prepared there were electrical issues associated with the stove and/or breakers that caused issues. The first night the breaker shut when we used the stove and it took a couple extra hours for meal prep. The next morning the owner sent over an electrician (we assume) who reset breakers and said we would be ok to use the stove that day but he would need to upgrade the breakers in the future. When cooking Thanksgiving dinner later that day the oven worked but there was loud snapping sounds and sparks coming from the stove when we tried to turn the burners on the stovetop on. We didn’t want to burn the place down so we decided to bring all the stovetop items back to my house and cook them delaying dinner by almost 2 hours. The host gave a (15%) refund for the inconvenience which I thought was small given the massive inconvenience and time I had to spend away from the family members who visited. I asked for a larger refund given the inconvenience and have not heard back from the owner yet.I would not rent the house if I wanted to use the stove to prepare large meals.
Came with extended family for parents 50th anniversary celebration - two 70+adults, four 40+adults, and four children 9-12. The best thing about the property is the location and outside space - right on the peaceful little Sebago lake, with two docks, kayaks, paddle board and fire fit. The water was clear and warm and the kids would have stayed in the water all day if they could. Kayaks were well maintained and lots of little areas to explore. The house itself was beautiful and spacious, with large living space and enough dining space for all if we used the bar or outside space outside. Three rooms for adult couples and one bunk room for kids, as well as another living space downstairs. A couple of drawbacks - house is not airconditioned and we were there in 90 degree weather and it was HOT. This is obviously not the norm for Maine, but it posed a challenge for us. Two bedrooms upstairs had portable units for sleeping, but all the living space and downstairs were still very hot. One couple lived only 20 minutes away, and went home to bring a couple of their own window units so the the kids and third couple could sleep comfortably. Also, two of kids beds and adult bed downstairs were quite uncomfortable, able to feel springs, and we had to put down extra padding on the beds so the kids could sleep. But overall a lovely place, location could not be better, and as long it wasn't so hot, would come back in a heartbeat!
The home is in a great location with awesome views of Little Sebago Lake. Check in was easy. The house contains everything you need for a perfect stay. Katie was easy to work with and communicated in a timely fashion when we had any questions. I recommend the home if you’re staying in the Gray area.
We had a four night getaway and despite the weather (cloudy and some rain) the place had so much to offer. Kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, games for adults and kids, a great kitchen to cook in. Definitely going up again next year!
Lake side cabin was perfect for relaxing both day and night. Located on a well maintained dirt road but close to town and stores. Communication for check in a pre arrival questions was great. Would stay again.
Enjoys a nice relaxing weekend. With some old friends. The weather held out and we were able to enjoy the ground especially the fire pit. We would book again!
There was our second time staying here. This time we brought our kids and spent the weekend with friends. It was plenty of space, with tons of comfy seating for late night talks and even games and toys for the kids. Very clean and just what we needed. Thanks Katie!
The location and the lake could not be better. House had all we needed. Great fishing and the kids lived in the water. We had one problem but the owner responded fast and dealt with it. We have done this as a family many times and everyone said this place was the best ever. We all would definitely rent this again.
I surprised my husband with a weekend full of good food, a little drink and a lot of ice fishing with his buddies (late 40’s for reference) and it was beyond all expectations! The house itself is absolutely gorgeous and the view is breathtaking! We were a group of 11 and there was more room than we’d ever need…could have fit 11 more easily without being cramped. We went on a freezing cold and windy February day so we didn’t get to enjoy most of the amenities, but we took advantage of the beautiful fireplace and nice warm blankets they left for us while some of us stayed in, played board and card games that they provided, while the brave, went fishing. I could go on and on but just let me say the house literally had EVERYTHING you could possibly need for kids and/or adults!! Katie answered all my questions in record time and also gave us advice and ideas to help us further when it came to bait, fishing spots and lots more. We would definitely stay again…hopefully when the weather is warmer 🤗
Had a wonderful time staying at this Sebago Lake getaway! Such a perfect house on a beautiful setting. It was clean, had all the amenities you could want, and the host was so easy to communicate with. Would love to stay again! Thank you!
From start to finish the best experience. Katie was so wonderful and truly cared about our stay. She was very accommodating. We were in town for my sons wedding and wanted to find a place where we could all be together. The home had everything you can need or want! Great location. Perfect in everyway. Would love to stay again for a longer period of time.
Beautiful setting right on the lake. The fall colors were gorgeous. House was perfect for our group of friends- great common spaces, fully stocked kitchen and very clean.
