"This rental was perfect for our meet up with some special friends. Kitchen was fairly well stocked with utensils and cooking equipment. We brought our own BBQ because we are fussy about clean grills, but there is one on the large deck. The seating area in the living room was very comfortable (different from pictures). One thing that is not pictured on the listing is the bathrooms. The main suite bathroom has a beautiful shower and deep jet tub it was very lovely, and the upstairs shower has a river rock floor-equally nice. The weather was a bit chilly while we stayed and there lake was quite high so we were unable to access the dock without getting wet. The parking is a bit tight, we had two pick ups, and had to be creative with parking as to not inconvenience the neighbor. (Who are very nice people with lots of knowledge about the area.) The host was very easy to communicate with and responded quickly to answer any question. He even took the time to give us fishing information, walking paths, and things to do in the area. The view was absolutely spectacular to sit on the deck and have your morning coffee or a late evening cocktail. We definitely would recommend staying at this listing, we just wish it wasn't so far for us to get there. Thanks for the memories:)"
"The suite we stayed in was perfect for our travel plans. The grounds and views from the terrace of the surrounding mountains was fantastic.
Thank you for providing a wonderful place to stay."
"What an amazing experience. Gorgeous views and a beautiful very authentic cabin. Claudia and Klaus are both fantastic, friendly, and helpful people. They were so kind to us and our children. I can't recommend enough. Would love to come back"
"All very good. The 2 bedrooms in loft area involved a very steep and narrow stairway, and the ceiling height in these 2 bedrooms was no more than 4 1/2 feet. Mattreses were on the floor. I don't believe this was described in the add."
"The location is very good. Right near the ferry, up the hill and away from the highway, 30 minutes to Nelson and 30 minutes to Kaslo, lots of hiking. The rooms are spartan and the bed was way too soft, but there was ample hot water, lots of guest ice and a hot tub that I didn't get to use. The power went out after a storm, but that was a regional issue, not the property. The breakfast could use some protein as it is mainly bread and jam, muffins and cereal. There was yogurt, coffee, water, juice, etc.
The restaurant at the golf club was good, but there was no real breakfast place in the area (a decent bakery by the ferry, but no where for bacon and eggs), but a number of good lunch and dinner options.
If you go, there is an amazing hike in an old growth forest, with cedars and other hundreds of years old trees. the turnoff is 11-12 km towards Nelson and then another 11 km up Kokanee Glacier Road (a forestry road, higher clearance is best but I made it in a sedan being careful) to the trialhead. Search Old Growth Recreational Trail. The energy was amazing."
"We were there for the tour of the property, were so creeped out by the staff and set up of the rooms that were visible to everyone using the area, we found a new hotel. Beautiful property though"
