Very nice stay. We felt the breakfast offering was poor given that breakfast was included. Each day there was a small as one and a potato and egg frittata. Self serve. Coffee was good but would have been nice to have fruit, granola and other offerings.

Great place to stay in downtown Grass Valley. The rooms are nice and clean. Service was great. Breakfast was just OK. Scones are so so and the egg dish was the same four mornings in a row. However, there’s a great little coffee shop/bakery across the street. Great bar. Nice restaurant. Lots of restaurants in downtown and great shopping. We will visit again.

Room door kept making noises when another door was opening. Air gap that needs adjusting, had to use a towel to jam the door closed. Apart from this it was a great stay

We did a photo shoot in your location in the King suite and it was amazing!!! The staff especially Amanda were out of this world helpful. Of course after I spent the night in this beautiful room and enjoyed the bath, bottle of wine and the quietness of this luxury, beautiful room. The little touches like water next to the bed and crisp clean sheets made all the difference. Very clean and very unique experience in this historical hotel. Will come back again with my hubby. The restaurant was amazing! The staff very kind and helpful. Loved the bartender... makes a mean Manhattan!!

Such a cute boutique hotel. The staff members were amazing and helpful, accommodations were comfortable and very nice. The location is great and right in the middle of the downtown area.

Nice, but maybe not my first choice
Staff was friendly, but despite requesting a touch up of the room two days in a row it never happened. I was in the back detached house, which was adorably decorated, and I made good use of the claw foot tub. The downside, being basically surrounded by parking lot.

The Holbrooke Hotel is beautiful. The rooms were very clean and the staff were so nice and welcoming. The food and drinks at the restaurant were delicious and the ambiance was amazing. The customers varied in ages and aesthetic making the space very welcoming and comfortable. All the staff we encountered were pleasant and extremely helpful! We stayed in the Purcell King and it was peaceful. We didn’t have issues with noise (but I also sleep with ear plugs). I knew there wasn’t a tv when I booked, and my boyfriend and I enjoyed not having it. I didn’t have to deal with neighbors blasting their tvs! It was truly a wonderful and perfect stay, we will be coming back for sure!

The offer I booked did not match the stay. We were not in the main hotel but in a building across the parking lot. There was construction noise that started at 7:30 in the morning. Room was nice but no tv or control for the heat in the room.

Great stay! Be aware of booking through 3rd party
This was our first time to Grass Valley and the Holbrooke Hotel. It came highly recommended by a friend. The property, amenities and restaurants/bars were great! Onsite staff were also wonderful! From the check-in to room requests and the interactions with servers/bartenders - all were wonderful! The only complaint we have is regarding the room temperatures/thermostat. You can't adjust the temperature in your room as there was no thermostat. Nor were we able to open our windows as they were painted shut. It was very hot in our room and due to this we didn't get much sleep. In addition, all should be aware about booking through a 3rd party. In booking our reservations through a third party, we were placed in the Pursell House and not the main Holbrooke building. This is not something that is correctly described when booking on 3rd party sites. It is correctly described on the Holbrooke's website. In addition, you are charged a $15 amenity fee onsite if booking through a 3rd party which adds to the cost. Best to book directly with the Hotel!

Amazing hotel
This was my first time staying at this hotel. It was amazing! I highly recommend staying here. The staff are very friendly and willing to go above and beyond to make sure your stay is enjoyable. I will definitely be staying here again.

I was expecting a walk in shower while walking in the room but to my surprise there was a bathtub with shower that was very small. The tub was also very slippery and im worried someone my get injured. A pillowcase had mold on it. I tried sleeping in until 10 am but it was so loud in the hall and you can hear everything going on. I would recommend the National Exchange hotel over this hotel.

We have stay here before always staying in Main building, this time we stayed in the cottage in the back. Very comfortable and clean. They seemed to bend over backwards for us. Grassvalley was busy with the holiday festivities but they were able to get us in for dinner with out having reservations. Super professional and hospitable. We will definitely be back.

Holbrooke Hotel
We have had a great stay! The staff was super friendly. The room was very clean and bed was very comfortable. The shower and bathroom were very clean. It is nice to have a bar and restaurant located within the hotel. The hotel is very conveniently located by lots of shops and places to eat. It is all within walking distance. Even the movie theater is just a brisk walk away. Would highly recommend this hotel and highly likely that we will be returning as guests!!
