Plover Retreat - Cute Cabin Close to Town, 5 min. from beach

Welcome to the Plover Retreat, a cozy cabin in Grand Marais. Our cute two bedroom plus sleeping porch cabin, is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature. Enjoy quality bedding and towels as you 'rough it' in our cute cabin. Though only a few minutes from town, our cabin and its surrounding yard feel secluded and private. Enjoy the first cup of coffee in the morning on our deck and watch the humming birds zip around looking for food. Lazy, quiet days lend themselves to reading a book or putting together a puzzle on the enclosed porch while still getting to enjoy the scene outside.

Just a short walk from our property is the beach access for one of Lake Superiors prettiest spots: five to ten minutes on foot turn right on H-58 towards town, turn right on Ellen Street to a public beach. Sugary sand and shallow water for swimming meet up with the mouth of the Sucker River; the perfect spot to spend an afternoon.

As the day wears on and night fall begins, be sure to enjoy a small camp fire under the stars. Roast some marsh mellows, sing songs or tell a few tales of times gone by. Reconnect with family and friends and enjoy a slower paced life on vacation with us.

Plover Retreat great spot when visiting Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

Plover Retreat is a cozy, clean and comfy cottage about a 15 minute walk from the beach, restaurants and shops of picturesque Grand Marais. It was very clean with a well equipped kitchen and peaceful location. Great for a couples getaway or kids with a cool loft bed. Pets are also welcome. We’ll be back!

Quaint Little Cabin

This little cabin is cute and quaint. The location is convenient, as it is close to town. The lot is also private, with trees providing some seclusion. Our trip was enjoyable, and the cabin provided what we needed, but there are a few things that could’ve made the stay a bit more comfortable. For one there’s no air conditioning, although the host did provide fans. The stove, is very old and did not cook our food all the way through burning only the outside. The Mattresses were also too firm and likely old for our liking. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but some upgrades are needed.

Wonderful cabin close to pictures rocks and yopperlights

This cabin was small but perfect for our stay. It fit all of us very well and the description was very accurate. I had sent two messages thru Vrbos messaging system close to our stay but they went unanswered. They weren’t big questions. Although I was a little Bergius because I hadn’t received check in instructions. It didn’t matter as the key box was unlocked when we got there and were able to get into the property easily. Other than that it was great!! If you’re looking for a cabin close to pictured rocks and a beach to search for yopperlights, this is the place!! It was so easy!!
