The house is a unique, spacious, bright, 2-story rustic mountain house with a beautiful deck facing the quiet state park. The style is a cross between a log-cabin and a chalet. The first floor includes 3 bedrooms, a sauna, a bathroom and a fun game room with a pool table, TV, Nintendo Wii, book and game/toy shelf, dart board, and an electronic train suspended from the ceiling. Enjoy summer grilling and eat outside at the table.

On the second floor, the house has a 4th (master) bedroom with a private bathroom (tub and shower combo), a half bathroom and an open kitchen, dining room and living room. The common area is light and airy, with windows across two exterior walls for views of the beautiful forest/mountain landscape (and wildlife) and a wood fireplace that is serviced annually for safety. The dining table allows your whole family can gather together for a meal. The kitchen is well stocked with small appliances (blender, Ninja Foodie/air fryer, toaster/air fryer, waffle maker, electric griddle, etc.), pots, pans, dishes and silverware so you can easily cook.

To the side of the house is a lovely little yard with a fire pit where you can enjoy a peaceful evening. Your dog can also enjoy some outdoor time using our dog run lead (please clean up after your dog).

We offer premium coffee to go with the coffee maker (Nespresso), organic teas, fair trade chocolates, and locally sourced spring water. We also provide fair-trade, vegan/plant-based, cruelty free shampoo and conditioner as well as linens and towels. Powered by renewable energy, with eco-friendly well water and a septic system, this cabin is a perfect getaway for the environmentally conscious traveler.

We have put a lot of love into making this house a perfect getaway and we think you will enjoy it. We are very accessible owners and respond quickly to questions about the house. Many of our guests love it so much that they come back to book with us again.

Although Gouldsboro is a very safe town, for the additional safety and protection of guests and owners, we do have security cameras which may record the front door and the rear deck. Big Bass Lakes provides additional security by patrolling the neighborhood.

Guest Access:

Long weekend with Family

We managed to have a great time and the host was very responsive. Unfortunately, the accommodations were disappointing. The bunk bed was unstable so we couldn't sleep both kids in that room, the heating was erratic, the hot tub was only partly functional, there was trash in the yard and around the property, and the cooking supplies were inadequate. We made the best of it, but I wouldn't recommend staying here.On the bright side, the rec center pool was easy to access and fun, and we loved watching a movie with the fireplace crackling! We left some wood for the next guests to last at least one fire in case they didn't realize they needed to bring their own wood.

We had a long list of complaints:1. The house and especially the whole downstairs was very musty upon arrival. More dehumidifiers are needed—it really feels like a basement.2. There is no AC in one of the bedrooms (where I was staying) which is unclear from the listing.3. The bunk bed was rickety and unsafe to sleep in, so the child with us had to sleep on the floor in one of our bedrooms. We specifically got a house with 4 bedrooms to avoid this. This was an issue for a renter in April (in a review made after we booked).4. I made a point to ask about the grill days in advance (made sure there would be gas in the tank, and it would all be ready to use) and when we arrived the grill was not maintained, no gas in the tank, and a broken starter.5. As also stated in the April review, the kitchen supplies are not sufficient. Some pans caked with grease stains and cords missing to appliances. 6. The house had been cleaned up, but it doesn’t seem like a deep clean had been done in a while. There were clumps of hair on all the carpets and hair in the beds, food on the chair cushions, etc. We were told we didn’t need to strip the beds upon leaving which felt like a red flag to me. For the price, it really wasn’t worth it to us.
