We had a nice stay overall, friendly staff and Ok food. Unfortunately there was a lot of mold in the bathroom, but I’m sure that the staff would help us to change room if we bothered asking.
Pacific Gardens is set in stunning grounds and is surrounded by lush vegetation and trees. It is a cool verdant paradise
Overall the service was good, the staff friendly and the attitude relaxed.

We didn't like food restaurant. Never have what they offer or we want in relation with menú.
Rooms menú dont have disponibilty. So is very burry if you are more than two days at the hotel.
Natural Gardens surrounding the place were stunning and something to make you get the camera out. Staff were brilliant and food was good.
Next time I will take earplugs though because being a wooden building, sound carried throughout and was kept awake all night by the sound of other people’s doors slamming.
Property was quiet and self-contained outside city center-which was good-possible to walk into town; free airport pickup and dropoff but no shuttle into town-had to get a taxi and it took 30mins waiting every time

The flight had to return to Port Moresby because of fog, so never got to experience the hotel. :(
I booked and paid for a premium room and was told they were over booked and the only available room was the one given to me. The room was very small, dirty , stuffy no aircon dents in the walls . The leaking toilet sounded like a sonar. The small fridge was rusty pain peeling off the walls. I would never stay in this establishment again under any circumstances
This was my first visit to Goroka and I definitely made the right choice when I booked at the Pacific Gardens Hotel. The staff were more than accommodating and the restaurant was fantastic. I was fortunate enough to meet the owner and he personally thanked me for my visit. If you want to stay at a beautiful, quiet, secluded estate, you will definitely not be disappointed with this hotel.
This is PNG and it's a rough 6 hour drive from a major city. Operating here is tough. There is no Home Depot around the corner. The rooms are basic and showing age. The bathroom, developing nation like and not clean. The restaurant is very good, but service can be slow. The hotel is owned by a helicopter company and you'll encounter a company lodging type feel. Wifi? Super PNG slow, so pickup a sim card. Get a local guide, explore the area by PMV and you'll have a blast.

Second time to stay, got a free upgrade. Standard room is very basic and had a few things broken, this time the superior room was much nicer. The kitchen can be a little slow, however the setting for the hotel is very nice. Went on the walking track which was nice except for the spiders.
This hotel is set in a massive hillside garden. It is safe and has an awesome restaurant. The small rooms for pilots and engineers are good. The deluxe rooms are awesome.
The reception staff were abrupt from the get go.
They don't understand the Wotif system and were not willing to listen when I had explained that the extras such as rollaway beds and extra persons staying in the room were included in the price I had already paid. They therefore charged me additional again...
The rooms looked very nice in the advertisement, but were not so when I had arrived.
There were a lack of towels in comparison to guests per room, and when requests for more were made, none came.
All in all, I didn't feel welcome, nor relaxed the slightest.
The hotel is unpleasant. Dark room with only a few lights working, NO heating in the room (despite the town being at 1600m), bathroom had not been cleaned properly, the advertised internet did not work, no manager on site to sort out problems and the supervisor also refused to visit to discuss the many items. This hotel is WAY overpriced for what you get. No way would I book it again.

Staff were real nice, Manager even gave me a ride to the airport himself. Food was excellent. Room was very "out-back-shed) like but then I paid only a small amount so value was really good considering where I was. Grounds were very nice and peaceful and used by expat locals for a safe place to walk in the open air..

some good , some bad
There re definitely some drawbacks staying in the cheaper rooms - they can be noisy and people in adjoining rooms can be heard all through the night ! UGH! The grounds are gorgeous. The restaurant is hit and miss - meals can take up to 90 minutes - but it is PNG
Visit to Goroka show.A wonderful experience. Very limited hotel choices and this hotel reflects this. Now in Bali and the contrast in hotels could not be starker.
