As a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, travelling now comes with a few more challenges. Cast your eye over the following tips before boarding your flight to Goree Island:

• Before booking your flight, see if any travel bans or restrictions apply — in both your origin and destination. Keep informed with the latest updates by reviewing government travel advisories.
• When you pass through airport checkpoints, keep your face mask on. You will be asked to lower it briefly to confirm your identity. Passengers who refuse to wear a face mask may face civil penalties and may also be denied boarding.
• You're no longer required to hand your boarding pass (paper or electronic) directly to a TSA officer. Rather, position the pass on the reader and then hold it up for inspection.
• TSA is now allowing passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on luggage. This will need to be removed from your bag and presented for screening.
• Place any personal items (e.g, wallet, keys and phone) in your carry-on rather than a bin to reduce handling during the screening process.
• Transport your food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Separating food from your carry-on means it's less likely a TSA officer will need to open your bag for inspection.
