Beautiful, waterfront home located on the St Mary’s River, fisherman’s dream

10/10 Excellent

"This was a great place to stay for my family. It was our 3 kids and my husband and I. We enjoyed kayaking to the little island and fishing off the dock. Our favorite part was watching the freighters at night along with all of the shooting stars. We got a bonus our last night there and got to also see the northern lights! Great place, would for sure stay there again!"

"This property is absolutely beautiful. We saw deer in the driveway and spectacular sunsets on the water side. We all loved the interior too with beautiful taxidermy we were so in awe of! We were lucky enough to see the northern lights too!"

"We enjoyed our stay on Bois Blanc Island! The house was well-equipped for our group of four adults, 3 teens, 2 small children, and a dog. The property is beautiful and the beach has wonderful views. You are in nature, so remember that things like bugs are inevitable. Overall our stay was quite pleasant! Perhaps my only minor faults were that the porch area was so spidery that we really couldn’t use it, and all of the amenities in the listing weren’t as easily available as implied. I’m not afraid of bugs or spiders, but the entire porch was so covered in webs and spiders that we chose to sit on chairs in the grass instead. I don’t mind a little cleaning, but it was more than I wanted to do while on vacation. Additionally, things like fire wood were not readily available and we had to forage for it or buy it. I believe the things like bikes and boats were locked up in the barn - understandable - but it was just an extra step to reach out and ask for things that we expected to be more accessible. To be fair, that’s more of an “us” issue, but we also didn’t want to bother our hosts. One thing to note - the beach area is beautiful, but even with other reviews I really underestimated how rocky it is. This is not the kind of beach you lay out on. You can explore and rock hunt, but it’s not a sandy relaxed kind of beach vibe."

"The amount of space inside this home was perfect. Lots of space for our family to stretch out and relax. The covered porch was by far the most amazing piece of this property (aside from the pristine beach). There were plenty of amenities and the kitchen had everything needed to prepare our food. We stocked up on groceries in Cheboygan and brought them over. Highly recommend this spot for anyone considering staying on BBI."
