Extremely friendly and inviting resort with lots of amenities and fantastic restaurant. Very spacious and comfortable room with a view of the lake. Can’t wait to return for a longer stay.

The staff was outstanding, pleasant and helpful. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and we had dinner one night and the steaks were excellent. I was able to extend checkout for an extra hour which was very helpful, as my granddaughter was able to ride the pony again. We participated in multiple activities such as Tomahawk and Archery; the attendants were helpful and provided positive feedback. The pool was chilly, but doable for children. The only disappointing thing that occurred was the adults were unable to ride horses.

This place was all it was cracked up to be. Beautiful, spacious, luxurious. Friendly staff. We had rooms and cabins.The rooms were very nice with all the nice amenities.Cabins more basic but nice. Pros were iced waters readily available all over the property, truly delicious large breakfast every morning, babysitting option each night. Cons were the very expensive drinks and dinner and the prohibitively expensive extra activities. Due to the costliness of the property and food we are unlikely to return regularly but might try again in a few years when all our grandkids are old enough to do all the nice activities.

Grounds, rooms and most areas were very clean. The family pool could use a little TLC along with the windows in the main dining room. Staff was amazing, friendly and helpful. Food is wonderful as always!

The staff was wonderful! The views amazing and the dinners were excellent! We enjoyed the activities as well! The adult pool was nice, the kid pool was a bit grungy, cloudy and tired. The food at that pool was not great and the flys were obnoxious. The rooms are nice but need a little TLC, all said and done, we will go back!

We saw a few medium-sized spiders in the Airbnb house, which may concern some guests. However, my 11-year-old son was not bothered by them at all. Overall, it was a wonderful place, and he had a blast enjoying most of the activities the resort offers.

Rough Creek Ranch was spectacular. I was not familiar with the ranch prior to booking the trip. My family of six traveled there because my son has a football scholarship to TCU. He enjoyed the five star dinner the first night and my family was entertained with the many activities including pickle ball, putt putt golf and access to many activities of all sorts. Would recommend the ranch to all especially those with children. Thoroughly impressed. Will return. A diamond in the rough. No pun intended

I researched resorts in Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, Houston, and San Antonio and none of them could come close to provide all the high end facilities with over 50 activities to choose from at Rough Creek Lodge. (Not even Grapevines' Galord Resort or Great Wolf Lodge that we have stayed.) I have never visited a resort or hotel that had such high class employees that would go out of their way to make your visit the most memorable you could ever have. Who would have thought this on a 9000 acre ranch. Fine dining, shooting skeet, horseback riding, bowIing, to axe throwing to name a few...it didn't matter of the high class performance. I made an excellent choice to celebrate my wife's birthday with my children and grand children. Thank you Rough Creek Resort & staff for making my wife's birthday and family experience an event we will talk about for years.
