Drinking Water: The cabin does have well water which has a different smell than city water since it is not chlorinated. The drinking water is triple filtered and the bathroom water is double filtered, but there still may be a slight odor to the water due to the type of water in the area. Rest assured the water is clean and suitable for use but some guests may choose to bring bottled water for drinking.

Handicap Friendly: Let us explain what we mean by handicap friendly…there is a zero-1 step entry into this home, and it is one level (a ranch-style home). The bathrooms and hallways are not up to official handicap standards and do not come equipped with special apparatus to help those in need. There is a steep hill down to water however.

Lake Rules: There are rules at this all sports lake, they are posted at the property. Most importantly they have a quiet time at 11:00 pm.
Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillow cases and bath towels.
Parking: There is enough room for up to 3 cars or 2 truck/trailer combo. Parking for 2 cars is on a gravel parking area between the road and the cabin. (Not the yard)
Pets: 2 Dogs are welcome! Freshwater Vacation Rentals currently charges $75/per pet for your entire stay. Yes, we do accept dogs, yet we do ask that you please clean up after them both inside and outside the cabin. Plus, if you allow them on the furniture, we do ask that you please bring your own linens/blankets for them to sleep on. Just let us know which bed you will be using with them, and we'll make sure it is ready for your sheets when you arrive. Plus, if the pet hair starts to build, we do ask that you please run the vacuum. Generally, dogs love the water and places to explore. Pet food does tend to attract mice, so vigilance is needed.
Public Boat Launch: If you're not able to launch kayaks or boat at the dock (due to water level) there is a Public Boat Launch about 10 houses down on the left, going South on W Pratt Lake Rd.
Privacy: Cottage right next door.
Seniors: Come one, come all! This space is great for those over 60. Sometimes when renting a home, you are never too sure about the terrain: is the home on top of a hill, is parking on a steep slope, are there 100 steps to the beach or the unit, etc. This home gets the FVR approval for the young at heart!
Snowmobiles: a person (resident and nonresident) that operates a snowmobile in Michigan is required to purchase a snowmobile trail permit. The trail permit enables snowmobilers to ride state-designated trails and thousands more miles of public roads and on public lands (where authorized). It is valid for one year, which begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept. 30 of the following year. State-designated trails are open Dec. 1-March 31 and grooming occurs when there is enough snow on the ground. Cozy, clean, nicely decorated cottage! Beds are comfy. It’s just right for the 3 of us and our pup (that we’ve never allowed on furniture). Will definitely return!
I needed a last minute getaway with my family and this was the perfect retreat. The kids loved playing in the sand at the property and swimming at the little beach around the corner. It is a cozy little cottage but served our needs perfectly. Was perfect for a few days to getaway from life’s hustle and bustle and reconnect as a family.
Check in process was extremely professional with constant communication leading up to my stay. Place was virtually like a fully remodeled modern house with old cabin like touches. Nice quiet backyard with nice view of the lake.
Quaint, comfortable cottage perfect for the 3 of us
This place was clean, comfortable, and decorated nicely! We loved that we could have our dog for a small extra fee. She doesn’t get on the furniture. We will definitely be renting again!
Cabin was very clean. Beds were comfortable. The bathroom was very small. The shower was slippery. Suggest a mat in the tub to prevent falls & maybe a grab bar. Kitchen equipt with all essentials. Was disappointed that there was no lake access. My husband was excited to go fishing but was not able to at the cabin.
Perfect place for a birthday/spa weekend. Cottage was clean. Well appointed. Close to Gladwin and Riverwalk Place. Highly recommend the Peppermill restaurant for breakfast and the Riverwalk Grill for dinner. The Oasis spa was wonderful.
Property was beautiful and clean. Kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need. Was sent a nice text beforehand summarizing everything you might need or can expect before checking in which was helpful. Really enjoyed our stay.
Very well stocked with everything needed to cook and grill. Nice place. Nice fire pit. Quiet neighborhood. Pretty lake. We loved kayaking the lake. Very clean and serene. Owner of the management company was very professional and nice.
The cottage was sparkling clean upon our arrival with beautiful furnishings and new appliances! We were pleasantly surprised that we did not find one bug in the cottage throughout our entire stay During our stay, the canal was dried up which made it difficult to use the kayaks, but that's on Mother Nature. There were plenty of extra blankets and a cute electric fireplace - the TV's firestick made it easy to log in to our streaming services too. The Wi-Fi was strong and we never had an issue with cellular service when connected. The cottage is near an amazing ice cream parlor which was a family favorite. It's safe to say we will be staying here again!

Over priced for what you get.
Water smells awful. Bathroom way too small, if you’re over 5’8” 160 lbs forget it. No extra blankets/pillows. Lack of cleaning supplies. Poor lighting except the very small bathroom. Beautiful view of the lake, although no access, so forget using the kayaks. Nice supply of dry firewood. Lack of basic amenities.
