It was fun to have a view of Mt Etna right out our room window. The hotel facility has a pleasant inner courtyard, which was nice in a busy urban setting, and a good place for breakfast when the weather allows. Speaking of breakfast, the offerings were extensive and included some preserves made by the kitchen. The plantings were lovely. There were some interesting antique furnishings and decorations, including a massive wine press (or maybe olive press?) in the breakfast room. Some of the room furnishings were more archaic than antique. But overall a nice place to stay at a modest price.

Clean cute spot with a great view of Mount Etna. Proper breakfast and easy on-site parking made this a very convenient place to use as home base/reliable sleep for our day trips.

Amazing stay

Here’s a polished review you could post: --- We had a wonderful stay at Etna Hotel! The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. They went above and beyond by organizing a fantastic trip to Mount Etna for us, which was truly unforgettable. Everything was well arranged and stress-free, making our holiday even more special. Thank you so much for the warm hospitality — we can’t wait to come back! 😊

Absolutely adore this spot! Staff were great - except for one waitress in the restaurant who decided our child shouldn’t eat tiramisu and so she told us it was sold out. Was pretty judgemental. Everyone else was fantastic and would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Loved the view of Mt Etna especially during eruptions! Staff very helpful, breakfast was fine - but go down early if you want the full choice, pool was great. Limited options at pool bar, but plenty of sunbeds (never a towel scramble as you get in some places!) Decent size room and good shower.

Our room, superior for 3 overlooking the pool, had typical Sicilian furnishings and a high domed ceiling. Out front there was a small patio area with furniture and a great view of Etna. Just a shower which worked well but needed a little maintenance. The daily cleaning was exemplary. Dining was on a spacious terrace with mature olive and fruit trees. The restaurant offered a range of options including Sicilian favourites although some were not to my taste. The 10euro breakfast was a good buffet but mostly cakes and pastries. The pool was excellent and very clean. Airport pick up is 90 euros which is cheaper than getting one at the airport. I felt a bit trapped in the hotel as we did not have a car. Walking in the area is very limited as outside is a constant stream of traffic and the pavements peter out after a short distance. Taxi to Giarre is 20 euro but train fares are very cheap. The only other accessible evening restaurant was just meat dishes so not good for vegetarians. One afternoon we came back to find the hotel restaurant was closed so we had to resort to the nearby supermarket and break the 'no eating of food from outside the hotel' rule. The worst thing was that my sun lounger collapsed under me and I banged my back on a stone step. We saw this happen 2 or 3 times a day - the staff were sympathetic but not curious as to why it was happening. If you use a lounger check the locking pins on each side are not broken or missing and sit down on the leg end.

Very cozy hotel with a great view of Etna. Location of the hotel requires a car as there are not a lot of activity and restaurants near the hotel.

This was our 2nd visit to them. The room we booked was not given to us. They said we only booked for 4 ppl when we booked for 5 and then charged us an additional $160 at check out. They blamed Expedia for not paying them properly. In addition, the room that we stayed in had NO internet because it was not attached to the main building. That caused an issue for those in my party that needed to work a few hours each day. They added bar charges to the check out and we paid cash. They took the charges off but had I not caught it, we would have paid twice. Won't be back.

Het hotel is uniek in zijn soort. Een prachtig uitzicht op de Etna. Hele karakteristieke gebouwen.

Goede airco. WiFi is goed .

Veldig flott hotell!
