"The room was clean and the staff were great. The only issue was the bathroom, which had a smell so terrible that we could barely use it. It was difficult to take a shower with the sewer smell coming from the pipes. It did help eventually when we ran some water, but it was the stinkiest room I've ever stayed in. The rest was great. "We were issued one key card for 4 travelers, then the room required that a key card be inserted into a slot in order to keep the room powered on. The result was that we came back from dinner to a hot and humid room that tooks hours to cool back down. Great stay otherwise, but that one factor was enough to make it a fairly miserable evening. Hope the savings to BW+ was worth it."

"As a solo female traveller, I was scared to enter the hotel since the lights in the entrance are off, and will only turn on once you actually enter. The front desk is located on the floor above, so there is no one there. The room was poorly laid out, with barely any space to rest personal belongings. The curtains were filthy and stained, and there were flies all over the room. I checked out a night early because I felt uncomfortable staying any longer. Definitely was not a 4-star hotel experience, more like a 2-star."

"We loved this 15th century palace with its grand entrance gates and sweeping courtyard with a “Giant Hercules gazing towards you as you enter. Our suite was spacious, well appointed and a welcome place in which to relax after wandering the university town of Padua. A large garden with lots of shady areas provided calm cool respite from the unseasonably hot weather. Breakfast, on the day we had it was generous and included dainty sandwiches served on pretty crockery, freshly cooked eggs on request and a fabulous moist cake, all served in a cool airy 1st floor space in the original building. Fascinated by the Palazzo’s history and that of the man who had it constructed, we visited an exhibition housing some of his art collection at the nearby Liviano Palace which was well worth the 3 euro entry fee. We visited Padua after a recommendation from an Italian working in the Bulgari Hotel in Tokyo, Japan who was born there. With lots to see and hear - there is a music school nearby and we were treated to arias and bassoon practise whilst nibbling delicious pizzette and sipping a cold beer in the cafe on the cobbled street below - Padua is a great place to visit and Palazzo Mantua Benavides is a great place to stay if you do."

"This is a beautiful studio flat on the second floor just inside the pedestrian zone. A very spacious room with wonderfully high ceilings and full height windows on two sides makes it very light and sunny. A small kitchenette, a dining table and four chairs, a useful washer drier, a lovely large shower room (single basin only), the whole flat tastefully decorated and tiled. Very quiet and close to all the sights including the Scrovegni chapel. Alessandro who runs it is friendly and adaptable. A lovely place to stay."

"This is a perfect accommodation for travelers who would want to stay in downtown Padua. The hotel is strategically located - five minute walk from the city center and ten minute walk from the train station. It fit perfectly with our trip plans. We spend a leisurely day enjoying Padua and its history and the next day we took the convenient 25 minute train ride to Venice 's St Lucia station for a wonderful stress free day trip to Venice. The hotel has all the expected amenities and the breakfast is really good. The hotel also offers a cheap self parking in a secure garage next door and they will register your car with the city so that you do not get fined for entering the Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL) near the historic center where the hotel is located."
