The property was very nice and unique! The staff went above and beyond. One example was carrying my luggage up the stairs (insisted) since it does not have an elevator. They also took time to write recomendations on a map for us during our stay. If I am lucky enough to visit Ghent again I will be certain to stay at this hotel again. The location was just perfect too. So close to the center and very walkable. It also had parking for those with a car.

A lovely surprise

Loved it. After a few rubbish hotels while traveling around this was a place we could finally relax and enjoy. Spacious, characterful and comfy. Lovely bathroom too.

Excellent stay! The hotel is centrally located, you can easily walk or take the tram to different points of interest, cute cafes and boutique shops. Very stylish decor and ambience. However, it was not as quiet as we wished, the other guests could be heard outside and above. Also, we recommend a wall AC unit or fan, it was a bit warm in our room. We were on the ground floor and did not want to open our windows wide because of mosquitoes and privacy. Other than that, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Jenny and Guinness for a welcoming visit. Overall, highly recommend!

Excellent location

Excellent location, very close to major sights but not in a noisy area. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Big shower cubicle and clean with tea/coffee facilities in room. Easy to get to the main station by tram.

Nice place with lovely staff.

Very nice and helpful staff. Comfortable room with large bathroom and lovely shower. The structure is beautiful and in a good location. Great recommendations from staff about where to eat and what to see. The only thing I would change is upgrading from “standard room,” which seems to mean attic with skylights only and whacky steep stairs to manage, to a room on the first floor (one flight up). It appeared that the canal side first floor rooms were probably fantastic.

I really recommend this place to everyone who will travel Gent. What I most concerened before arriving the hotel was the cleaness of the room (especially the bathroom), but the room including the bathroom was very clean and I found the hotel is very well maintained. The bed was very comfy and made me sleepy although I usually have a problem to fall asleep. The women at the reception was very nice too. Her recommendation on the restaurants, bars, and souvenirs was very helpful. You can find a good restaurant right behind the hotel (you can even go there through the hotel courtyard and enter the back entrance of the restaurant). There is a lot of other restaurants or cafes near the hotel so the location was very nice too.

Great, quirky hotel south of the Grote Markt by about a 10 minute walk. The room was no more than a very small bedroom, but fine for our use. Despite the size there was a closet and a small desk. The bathroom was really nice, fully updated and modern, with a shower stall (no tub). The innkeeper told us that a shortcut to our room was afforded through the Irish pub next door (fully accepted by the pub, just walk on through - or stop for food and drink... Fantastic food there by the way, and a fine Belgian beer selection, not just Irish ones!) If you want the standard lobby-hallway-generic room of modern hotels forget this one. There are stairs only as far as I know, and room size could be issues for some. But if character, quirks and a decent price are alright with you, give it a go!

The staff was incredibly helpful with anything I needed, the attached restaurant was excellent, it’s super close to some really amazing places, but tucked away enough to be quiet in the evening. Extremely comfortable beds and coffee in the room!
