Renovated in 2020 and lovingly furnished in a modern style, this apartment is located in the Old Forestry Office along the historic city wall in Gernsbach’s Old Town. Not only does this area boast a wealth of sights—such as the Zehntscheuer, the Old Town Hall, and the Storchenturm—but it’s also home to most of Gernsbach’s restaurants. So you can easily leave your car parked in the evening and enjoy the charm of the old town.
The apartment (45 square metres) is located on the ground floor of the historic building. All rooms feature real wood parquet flooring. The heart of the apartment is the spacious and light-filled living and dining room, which includes a fold-out sleeper sofa and a TV with a DVD player. The bedroom features an extra-large bed and a spacious closet. The modern bathroom includes a wheelchair-accessible shower and a washer-dryer. In the hallway, there is a small kitchenette equipped with a ceramic cooktop, a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, a coffee maker, a kettle, a toaster, and a microwave with an oven function. Free Wi-Fi and parking are available. Guests are welcome to use the ground-floor terrace.
Starting in August 2020, there will be a small after-work wine bar on the ground floor of the house, where guests are, of course, warmly invited to start or end their evening. Opening hours are strictly limited, so guests need not expect any noise-related disturbances.
The view from the many windows of this historic building looks directly out onto the Katz’schen Garten and the Murg River, whose murmur accompanies guests throughout their stay. Most destinations within the city are easily accessible on foot. A bakery, butcher shop, and health food store are located right next Umgebung.In, you can reach the other side of the Murg in a maximum of 5 minutes; it takes 8–10 minutes to reach the light rail, which runs in both the direction of Karlsruhe and Freudenstadt. The house is located directly on the popular “Tour de Murg” bike route, which you can both start and end right here. The apartment is also an excellent starting point for numerous popular hikes.
