LOVELY AND REASONABLE...GET AWAY FROM IT ALL ! A very spacious house with 1800 square feet inside plus a large wrap around deck.Breathtaking views of the Atlantic and Caribbean ...Experience Great Exuma from the comfort and privacy of the Hummingbird House and enjoy stunning 360 degree views of the colorful waters of Elizabeth Harbor, Master Harbor, Crab Cay and the south side bone fish flats. We are located only two miles from Moriah Harbour National Sea Park. Soak up the sun and revel in the mild maritime climate of the cays while making this well appointed refuge your own, with space for parties of up to 6 guests. Lush tropical foliage surrounds this centrally located property that offers easy access to the bone fish flats by foot but there is no beach there per se ; take a 10 minute drive to Georgetown or to access 6 beaches. Or stay in and enjoy the unique open floor plan of the upper floor: a fully equipped kitchen, living room and dining room areas , and 2 covered, elevated decks connected by a walk around deck space. The upper floor also contains a single bedroom and half bath as well as a day bed in the living room that sleeps 1 guest. Downstairs you’ll find spacious king and queen bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom, and the house laundry room. Wake up to the tranquil sounds of hummingbirds and bananaquits that frequent the tropical gardens surrounding the house.

The house is located 20 minutes or less( BY CAR )from the beautiful southern beaches, including Hooper's Bay, Jolly Hall, Stocking Island, Forbes Hill and the world famous Tropic of Cancer (voted among the top ten beaches of the world by “Island Living” magazine) and Pretty Molly Bay Beach. The bonefish flats, known for world-class fishing, are a ten minute walk away...wade into bonefish and do your own thing and the Moriah Harbour Cay National Park is minutes away by car. These waters are fabulous for kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling and other water sports. Please note we are off the beaten path and Exuma roads are not great. We use a small Honda but you may want to consider an SUV.

The private location of this house provides the perfect getaway for those seeking peace and tranquility despite being close to several restaurants and the amenities of the quaint town of George Town. Whether you enjoy relaxing, golfing, bird watching, beach combing, fishing, water sports or night life, the Hummingbird House is your home away from home for enjoying all the cays have to offer. As you can see from the reviews folks love our house and location. Please contact us if we can provide more information and ask about stays for longer than one month.

**We do have a well that is treated with chlorine but the quality of the water in the Exuma aquifer can vary with storms and run off so we do not drink the water. We suggest drinking only bottled water on the island . There is a 5 gallon water jug in the pantry if you would like to use . The water refill store, Naturally Fresh , is located about a mile north of the house before Cheaters Restaurant and it is $4 for 5 gallons which is a reasonable way to go.

We do offer a discount for stays 30 days or longer. Please ask for more information. GUESTS MUST BE 25 OLD UNLESS WITH PARENTS. We do not refund due to hurricanes but guests can use their credit for a future stay. We encourage travel insurance during the storm months.

Our house is very private. We use an enhanced cleaning and sanitizing protocol. We have excellent WIFI and food delivery can be arranged...sequester in paradise if you like.

We are required by law to include a 10 percent VAT tax to the Bahamas Gov which is included in your fees/payment.We can provide our TIN number .

Fantastic views!

The house and location were perfect for us. View from the deck was amazing - could see both sides of the island. And the humming birds were an added bonus. Our family would spend hours on the deck! House is adorable and near bonefish flats and Georgetown.Host was very easy to communicate with and very responsive. She provides a host of information to help with your stay on the island and use of the house.We would stay there again in a heartbeat, definitely a piece of paradise for us!

Tropical paradise

Great property. Wonderful kitchen and laundry. Deck all around was tremendous. Great breezes kept everything cool. Roads were very Bahamian. Everything clean and lovely decor.

Great house!

Hummingbird House exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect home base for exploring the entire island. It was nice to come back to a roomy, clean house at the end of the day. The a/c works wonderfully and the breezy deck was amazing. Margaret was wonderful!

Amazing House

We have been to Exuma many many times, and the Hummingbird House more than exceeded our expectations. The house is well stocked with plenty of extra bedding and blankets as well as bath and beach towels. The kitchen had everything we needed and the house was very clean. We grilled out a couple nights and enjoyed dinner with local friends. The view from the wrap around deck is amazing!! It’s like being on top of the trees with breathtaking views of the salt flats on one side and the harbor on the other. There’s an AC unit in each room so you can adjust to your comfort level. The washer and dryer worked better than any house we’ve rented there before. All communication from the owners was prompt and pleasant. The caretaker Karleen did a wonderful job preparing the house and is also super sweet! Definitely a 5 Star experience!! Can’t wait to return.

Wonderful and charming house

Margaret was so helpful and prompt in responding to all my emails with questions. When I got lost to find the house, she called me right away and stayed on the phone to guide me to the house. The house is absolutely charming with killer view of the turquoise sandbar waters! We would come back for sure. And thank you Margaret for sharing your wonderful and beautiful home with our family! A Terrific Place!

We spent Christmas week at the Hummingbird House and couldn't have been happier. The house is large and very spacious- there was plenty of space for 3 adults and 2 teenagers. It was immaculately clean and well-stocked with pretty much everything you could possibly need including a nice selection of books and local tourist information. We liked the floorplan that had the two large bedrooms and laundry on the main level and the huge living/dining/kitchen on the top floor (with the views!). If you are someone who needs multiple giant screen tv's you'd be disappointed as there is only one small screen tv (but we weren't in Exuma to watch tv). As everybody mentions, the second floor wraparound porch/verandah is the highlight of the house as it enables you to enjoy views in all directions of both coasts, sunrises and sunsets. Its high enough that you have a breeze and for the most part avoid the bugs (be wary of walking the bone-fish flats shoreline around sunset as the no-see-ums were ferocious!). The grounds surrounding the house are nicely landscaped with beautiful flowers. The little roads accessing the property are part of the adventure. Our marginal Nissan Bluebird rental car made it but you do have to take it very easy. The house is far enough removed from the main highway that you don't get traffic noise and you feel that you have complete privacy without being totally isolated (there's no immediate neighbours but there are other houses in the area). We liked the central location which enabled us to drive to Georgetown in less than 10 minutes and the beaches of Little Exuma in about 20 minutes. Perhaps the finest thing about renting this home was dealing with Margaret. She was constantly available to promptly answer questions via email and was always very helpful and pleasant. We had no issues that required us to contact her local property manager. This is the type of place you'd like to keep as your own secret- a fantastic home rented to you by delightful people at a very reasonable price- hopefully we'll be able to go back again and again!

Hummingbird House

House was just as advertised. Very roomy and clean. We were just two couples but could have easily brought more guests with the upstairs beds and bath. Kitchen was very well stocked. The view from the decks were incredible and it was cool watching the hummingbirds from the decks. Great owners that were very responsive too although we did not have any issues.

Great experience

Stayed there with my family for 5 days. Margaret is very responsive, the house itself is very clean, well equipped, secluded and most importantly with a wonderful view. It has everything you will need for a comfortable and enjoyable vacation. Only inconvenience I faced is with the road going to the house. I rented a small car and it kind of struggled with the potholes and gravel road. And of course Margaret cannot do anything about it. Only thing I would do differently next time is rent an SUV instead.

Fantastic property

We had a wonderful stay! The home was spotless, tastefully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. One of our favorite parts was watching the hummingbirds come and go - such a peaceful touch. Enjoyed Three Weeks

We stayed at the Hummingbird House for three weeks in January. Communication with the host (Margaret) was excellent prior to our visit and while we were at the house. She provided excellent information about the house and Exuma, making our stay much easier and more pleasant. The house is very spacious, clean, true to the photos and was equipped with all that was needed for our stay. We had only one problem during our stay...an internet glitch that was taken care of quickly as allowed by "island time". The house is located 10 minutes from Georgetown where you can find groceries, the water store, liquor stores and a few restaurants. The best beaches are located about 20 minutes south of the house on Little Exuma. If you go, you'll definitely be spending time enjoying the view and the sunshine from the deck!

Outstanding Exuma Adventure!

The Hummingbird House was a perfect homebase as we explored. The views from the wrap around deck are stunning. This was our third trip to Exuma and hummingbird house did not disappoint. The property is beautiful and the house was very clean and had everything we may have needed. Our own piece of paradise

From the moment we booked until we checked out Margaret was wonderful to work with and she quickly responded to any questions. Hummingbird house has incredible views and it off the beaten path. The location of the home in Great Exuma was great especially since our favorite beach is only 20 minutes away (Forbes Hill). We felt like we were in our own little world and heard nothing but nature. We were able to enjoy watching all of the birds and also stayed covered when the rain rolled in. The home was perfect for our family and the kitchen is well equipped. We also took advantage of the grill on numerous occasions which was great after a long day exploring. We made many memories on this trip. Thank you Margaret for sharing your home with us!

Amazing House!

Margaret was absolutely amazing. Great host, excellent communication throughout all the stay. The house is well located. All amenities you need. Very clean. Also, the best views of Exuma is here. Sunrise, sunset, the sea. Beautiful. We had a great time and hope to be back soon!

Hummingbird Heaven

I just can’t say enough about our wonderful stay at Hummingbird House. We made our reservation about a year in advance and then needed to ask to make changes twice. Margaret was always quick to answer our messages and was extremely accommodating and extremely nice about it. So appreciated! We felt well prepared with all the info that was sent to us about the house and the area. The house was clean when we arrived and had everything we needed. It was lovely to have paper products to get started and to not have to pack beach towels in our luggage. The house is adorable! We loved being able to spend the day at the beach and then drive the hill to the house and relax on the amazing wrap around porch. The views are beautiful and we loved the visits by all the birds and checking out cool insects. We felt like we got a full island experience. If we are lucky enough to return to this beautiful island we would not hesitate to stay here again. ❤️

Best Ever!

The property was completely fabulous! The host was very friendly and responded quickly to texts. We had a problem with the dishwasher, and the maintenance man was there within minutes and fixed the problem. Best VRBO we have ever stayed in by far. Thank you, Margaret!

Just perfect

My family and I stayed here for 9 nights. The house is off the beaten path, but you feel like a local fast. The view feels like paradise. The house is a short drive to all the beaches we visited. Friendly Exuma

The property is beautiful in every way. Margaret is extremely helpful. Views from balcony are fabulous. We stayed here for a month, so experienced almost everything Exuma had to offer, from the most bluest water you'll ever see, to the friendly island people. If your looking for a very, very nice place to stay, ( this is it ) !

Wow! The View!

Great hidden gem located close to Georgetown. Margaret was amazing and responded quickly to all of my messages and questions. My husband and 2 other friends stayed in Hummingbird house for 5 nights. the views from the front and back of the house are so beautiful. The home had everything we needed for a perfect little getaway. We ate in a couple of nights grilling out and enjoying those amazing views. The roads getting there are a little rough, but we rented a van and didn't have any problems. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and for the price, you can't beat it.
