Absolutely loved the beautiful trees and flowers, off street parking, retro feel, back porch. Walked to restaurants/shopping almost daily during our stay. Host was very responsive.
House is beautifully decorated and spacious. Had nearly everything we needed - except a clothes horse would have been great for wet weather. The mattress in master bedroom was a bit soft for us, but this is a matter of preference. The location is great-close to shops and only 10min from Geelong CBD. Highly recommend this property.
Place had lots of mid century modern charm. Neighbourhood was good. Really good Thai restaurant nearby. Location was good as well within a few k of Geelong West.
We would have preferred a firmer mattress in front bedroom.

Enjoyed our stay at Oaks House. Property was clean, tidy and well maintained. Very close to all amenities. Plenty of options for food and drink, groceries close by all within walking distance. Parking was great as 2 car spaces available. Good for when guests came over to visit as parking on the street is limited. Communication with host was great, and instructions to enter premises are very precise and easy to follow. Would definitely stay here again.
Very happy with the property, it felt warm and inviting. The food and refreshments left made it very easy to have breakfast after arriving late.
Beds were comfortable and the rooms were a good size. The use of usb ports in the powerpoints made things very easy as well.
Carparking was easy and off rhe street.
This would be a wonderful home for anyone needing a place to stay short term or long term.
I had to change a day, so perhaps this was my fault but had a charge for almost an entire extra day which was disappointing, if this was the case I'd have just asked to add the extra night.
The shower was the biggest let down as it was cracked and tired. The rest of the property was very nice.
The front light doesn't work and some of the switches have tape over them which was slightly concerning. Although the property was clean, under the beds was quite dusty.
I had a 3 year old and felt safe having him in the property and sleeping in a bed on his own, however the cords for the blinds were a concern as they were loose and not fitted to the wall. We tied them up as best as we could and released it before leaving.
Chris is a fantastic host and very accomadating. Has great communication and I wouldnt hesitate booking this property again or one of their other ones. Thank you for having us, it was a pleasure and I apologize for the mixed review. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.
Hosts were very hands on and communicated well.Bit disappointed with the overall condition of house. Partially renovated to an extent but it is still a 1960's house.Minor things like torn flywire screen doors, torn external blinds could be rectified easily. Needs better aircon at least fans in bedrooms.Was way over priced for the standard of the house.
We thoroughly enjoyed the location, quiet neighbourhood and being so close to shops. Having my 2 dogs with me made the holiday extra special. We felt at home, cosy and comfortable.

The house was lovely and comfortable. Chris was prompt and clear with communication and we found the breakfast supplies thoughtful and generous. The small front garden is great for dogs, but it is separate from the house so perhaps keep your pooch on lead to use it. We would highly recommend this place and the host to others needing accommodation in Geelong. Great Thai food a tiny walk around the corner too!
I say the above because I’m a child of the 50’s and there were lots of reminders of the house lived in when 8yrs old. There were many sweet things, clean comfy beds, cute lounge and garden area. A couple of things need attention 1. There was no working implement to use gas stove top. 2. The outside blinds need to be pulled up, was to dark and no winter sun could brighten and warm the rooms, particularly the sun room. 3. I would visit an op shop and get some better cutlery and a couple of good sharp knives
We all 4 of us enjoyed staying in the house. Front bedroom bed may need some attention as it squeaks as if the frame is damaged but otherwise all good.
I took my elderly mum and two teenage daughters and we all loved the place. It’s the perfect size to accommodate up to eight people with shared spaces and well spaced bedrooms.
Our host was so professional in his communication and the house was spotless. We would definitely come back.
